Korobov was scheduled to fight on undercard and the press release billed him as "middlewight contender Matt Korobov" so one would assume that's where he was fighting.

Korobov is in shape for this one. He has a chance to win.

I didnt his last fight was at lhw. Getting the weight down on short notice wont be good for his stamina and chin.
I still think he can beat charlo by ud but he has to be cautious. Imo charlo is good fighter but not elite (ggg, canelo, Jacobs, saunders).
Charlo is getting a lot of hype without doing anything of note.

Korobov is a great technical boxer and very crafty and smart, but he is old, will lose weight on short notice and will be a little bit rusty. It all sounds bad for him. If he still beats charlo, it would confirm charlo was always nothing special, if charlo wins it will also mean not much.
    Charlo should fight devrychenko.
Ps. Andrade is an absolute bum for a titleholder. He would get murdered by the top 5 middleweight. He went life and death with fuc... jack midget culcay.

    The next fights should be:
Ggg vs canelo in New York (Ggg by sd)
Jacobs vs Andrade (Jacobs by brutal ko)
Saunders vs Brant (Saunders by ud)
Charlo vs lemieux (lemieux by brutal ko)

It is more intriguing than the main event but at 35, a sudden weight, short notice and inactivity you really have to question what type of condition Korobov will be in on fight night. When he turned pro I was very excited about him but it's never really panned out. Apart from the Uzcatagui win which has aged well he's not done anything as a pro.

His fight at LHW was against a 154 pound journeyman . He likely fought there to get in shape and dust off the cobwebs , i don't think he moved up to campaign at the weight.

Don't know what we can expect from current Korobov, but he seems like a better option as Monroe.

Korobov's a better fighter than Monroe (who I'm not high on at all).
Other than the fact that his career has fallen into semi-oblivion, this
has the potential to be a more difficult fight for Charlo..........

Well, at least he trained for a southpaw
Charlo by closer than expected ko (round 7)

Charlo missed his drugs tests so he should blast Korobov out.

Korobov is not fighting on short notice, he was supposed to fight on the undercard and he is not campaigning at 175, he fought there last time because he didn't needed to cut weight against a low caliber fighter.

Middleweight champion WBC midfielder Jermaill Charlotte will hold his first title defense on Saturday against Matvei Korobov, which will replace the out-of-the-way for a positive doping test for Willie Monroe.

Korobov was preparing to hold an eight-round battle with a contract of 162 pounds (73.5 kg) under the same show, but he believes that it will not be a problem for him to rebuild. "I was training for the fight in the same evening of boxing, so I'm physically and psychologically ready for the fight," Korobov said. "It does not matter that I received a notice of a championship fight in just a week, as I was preparing for this moment all my life. I will make certain amendments under Charles and make full use of this opportunity. "

"I was well prepared to fight against Lewis Willie Monroe, so that fighting against Korobov's left will not be a problem," he reacted to the news of replacing rival Jermaill Charlot. - There is a definite difference in size - it is higher than Monroe, but I will only have to make small changes to the plan for the battle. The best boxers in the world are those who are best adapted to change. The victory over Korobov will be much nicer in view of these circumstances ... On paper, Korobov seems to be a much stronger rival than Willie Monroe Jr. "

plus two divisions down from his last fight. he is definitely better than Monroe jr, but has too much against him to pull out a win.

Under normal circumstances, I would say Korobov has a chance to win this fight, but look at the situation Korobov is in.

He's 35, inactive, and taking a high-level fight on extremely short notice. He has a week to prepare, lose weight and who knows what. No amount of amateur pedigree can help a fighter in that situation.

Much better than monroe jr who's not good. Korobov can box and can make things more interesting.
