Lomachenko Would Be One of Pacquiao's EASIEST FIGHTS; KO—Any Version, Any Weight.

Lomachenko is a legitimate phenom in this boxing game. His deft combination of offense and defense, creative angles and workrate, speed and punch selection, and footwork and ringcraft—is the stuff of generational talent. But you needn't look too far back into boxing's past to find a fighter like him. In fact, that fighter, is still active and is fighting on January 19th. Lomachenko is basically a more intelligent and refined Pacquiao. But intelligence and refinement does not a better fighter make. In fact, most guys would happily face Lomachenko over Pacquiao (the financial benefits of a Pacman showdown aside). Pacquiao may look unpolished at times, but the man was born to fight and is an exceptionally crafty fighter w/ many tricks up his sleeve.

Where Pacquiao pulls ahead of Lomachenko in a head-to-head matchup is Pacquiao's power, explosiveness, faster speed, durability, and chin. I can't see Lomachenko surviving shots from Pacquiao at ANY weight class. Lomachenko gets badly hurt and stopped by the younger, raw, wild animal Pacquiao. Lomachenko also gets badly hurt and stopped by the older, more refined Pacquiao who's been able to stun much bigger and sturdier men in Hatton, Cotto, Bradley, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Floyd, Rios, Horn, and Vargas. Lomachenko is slick as hell, but Pacquiao WILL land and take him out. There are also durability concerns. While Lomachenko has never been knocked out or wobbled, do you really think he could survive the same shots Pacquiao has taken in his career?

The styles also favor Pacquiao. Pacquiao DESTROYS dudes who come forward and try to outpunch/outfight him. Lomachenko's a whirlwind of activity and the guy's all about entertainment and won't box safely and stink out a fight. Whether Pacquiao is taking shots to land just one of his lefts or punching w/ Lomachenko, he's not losing the exchanges. The power differential is too much. Pacquiao will walk through Lomachenko's shots with ease. Lomachenko also swells and cuts easily.

I'm a Lomasessual and will root for him against any guy but Manny. That said...

I'd take ANY version of Pacquiao to KO ANY version of Lomachenko. The wild animal and raw product in the lower weights KOs Lomachenko. The mature killing machine of the higher weights KOs Lomachenko. The old shot version lands his nuclear left eventually and KOs Lomachenko at 135.

Loma leaning to his right into the path of the storm that is a Pacquiao left hand...

 

For starters, Manny was able to walk through shots from full fledged welterweights.

And Manny is an expert at picking off shots with his jabs, which I haven't seen Lomachenko do. Manny's feignts and parries are also superior to Lomachenko's.
