This is boxing, it only takes one punch to change a fight.

Indeed, and it also only takes one punch to change someone's life or even end it. The ref has to balance those two countervailing arguments and when he's warned the guy that another knockdown will see the fight ended he has to follow through on that warning and as fans we should back him, he has the wider interests of the boxers health and by extension frankly the survival of the sport in the modern era.

I agree that attendees may have felt short changed but I would blame the people who created a ludicrous second world title for second rate boxers, the promoters who cherry picked this guy for their world level elite operator, the WBC who didn't follow through on the PED results etc. before the referee. He is the one guy in there who is genuinely on the side of the boxers long term health.

Ref warned him, said that’s the last time you’re going down and that’s it. Completely outclassed.

Smith destroys Canelo. Smith doesn’t lose at 168 for as long as he’s making the weight alright.

Sounds like the perfect opponent for a Pacquiao style catchweight/rehydration clause

You must have never seen the Cotto Margo rematch. Margo smiled and laughed as Cotto effectively ended his career.

Nah, Fielding is just too nice a guy. Maybe needs a meaner streak if he wants to step up further.

I met him after the first Bellew vs Chilemba fight. It was after Rocky had already fought and I've no idea what he was doing where I was (cheaper seats). Still had loads of time for everyone despite sporting a cracking shiner that probably should have been under ice. He was just too nice to tell everyone to get lost.

He probably should have been angrier when he was hurt, but I don't think he has it in him. Never a fix.
