Looks like if Whyte beats Del Boy this is very likely. Would be a very interesting fight, though I'd rather see either of them vs Ortiz.

On another note, if Whyte beats Chisora and then faces Povetkin, jeez what a list of fighters he has faced without getting a title shot. I feel bad for him, he has fully earned a title shot. But I have absolutely no interest in seeing him face AJ again and little interest in seeing him face either of the other Big Three. I just can't see him beating any of them, and I don't think many people outside of pure fanboys can.

Would be another cracking fight for Whyte. Should be another PPV fight and a good payday, people will see how much trouble Povetkin gave AJ and know he's a very dangerous fight for Whyte.

Whyte has done more than most to deserve a title shot but having already lost to AJ he'd have to easily beat Chisora and beat Povetkin more convincingly than Joshua did for my interest to be peaked in a rematch, there are simply better more interesting fights for AJ other than going over old ground again.

Ortiz needs to be in the mix and soon or it really will be too late for him.

Povetkin already ducked Whyte according to Dillian Whyte.

What the hell is the obsession with Ortiz? Whyte Povetkin is a big fight for Whyte. I think the Russian does him, knocks him out. Maybe its just me but Ortiz is good hes in the mix but why would people rather see him fight Whyte than Povetkin? Povetkin is still in the mix too and i rate him above Ortiz quite easily.

Because Povetkin and Whyte have had more contender v contender fights than Ortiz. We have more clarity on them than Ortiz. I'd like to see Ortiz start to get these fights so we get more clarity about just how good he is. To the eye test, he appears about as good as Povetkin and better than Whyte. But he's not getting the fights they are so it's harder to say for sure than when calibrating Povetkin or Whytes level.

I rate Povetkin over Ortiz too, not just in resume but if they ever fight I think Povetkin shows why he was the top international amateur and why Ortiz wasn't even the best Cuban heavyweight during his amateur career or even the 2nd best.

I think people want the Whyte/Ortiz fight more because there's beef there from previous call outs and so there's a history of debates and discussions over who will win. While the idea of Whyte/Povetkin is a new one. Fights need to be built up over time to create interest and Whyte/Ortiz has had time to do this unlike Whyte/Povetkin.

I also think people are kind of sick of seeing a supposed top ranked heavyweight like Ortiz fight nothing but low level opposition of late. His resume is very thin and many suspect he isn't half as good as his record suggests and would like a clearer idea of how good he really is.

Who exactly has Whyte faced apart from Chisora and Parker to deserve a title shot? LMAO

He already had a shot and was KTFOd.

Thing is with Ortiz is he's not getting the fights because he's making horrible career decisions like he always has during his career. He's either a fool or has a terrible manager.

He was sued by Greg Cohen his first promoter for signing with Golden Boy, he then paid Golden Boy $1 mill to get out of that contract a few months later. He ducked out of the Ustinov fight twice which would of secured him a mandatory title shot a year earlier than he would of gotten. He then refused to sign a deal with Hearn and only agreed to a fight by fight basis so Hearn had no incentive to choose him over Pulev and of course he then chose to fight Wilder for peanuts instead of waiting for a multi million dollar payday for Joshua.

He still hasn't signed with Hearn who again offered him a 3 fight deal recently which seems crazy when you look at all the big fights being made at the weight by Hearn. Povetkin agreed to work with Matchroom and his own promoters after the Joshua fight and so he's the one being talked about fighting Whyte likely on a PPV event. Whyte and Chisora and both about to fight again on a PPV card for millions. Even Parker who is willing to work with Hearn made at least a million vs Whyte and is still being talked about in possible big and lucrative fights with other Hearn heavies. Takam is still possibly getting regular work with Matchroom and been linked to Price even after losing to Chisora. Fact is it's clear work with Hearn and Matchroom and he'll give you further opportunities even if you lose on big cards. Miller too almost got the WBA regular title and is could get Joshua next. There are plenty of opponents there for him to fight and plenty of money on the table on big shows but Ortiz as always is making the wrong choices and in doing so freezing himself out of meaningful fights.

Povetkin is still capable enough to take apart Dillian Whyte. And it would be a barnburner too. I hope it happens , he deserves a big fight on Sky after the good fight he gave Joshau

Arguably, Whyte gave Joshua a harder fight than Povetkin - He’s also 10 years younger and on the up - I would bet on Whyte. Tough fight though.

Whytes had a good run. I can’t think of a HW more deserving of a title shot right now besides Fury.

But not vs. Joshua. He had his chance and was KTFOd badly, rocked Joshua once and apart from that he had no chance at all.

He should fight Wilder if Wilder beats Fury if they'll rematch next. Otherwise Whyte should fight Wilder and Fury should fight Joshua. And the winner should meet afterwards.

So Ortiz deserves a big fight because he's had less difficult fights?

Ortiz has only begun fighting in America because it's the 'Land of opportunity'.....Undeserved opportunity that is.

Deontay Wilder - 1 fight against a World Class opponent, 1 defeat.....But gifted a decision.
Jarrell Miller - Not had to face Wilder, or even Breazeale.....But somehow talks of a shot against Joshua despite ducking Pulev.

Dillian Whyte has done more to deserve a world title shot than Ortiz, Wilder and Miller combined.....

Right now Joshua/Fury/Whyte should be the three competiting for the belts, and Wilder/Miller/Ortiz competiting for 'Best of the rest'.

Povetkin at 40 is still too much for Whyte. I say the same about Ortiz at 52.
