I like to read boxing biographies so if you could pick 3 dececed fighters to have an in depth bio written about them who would you pick? I'll start off with. Sorry ment to write Three in thread title 1 Matt Franklin 2 Fritzie Zivic 3 Bobby Chacon
Lol I hope I didn’t mess things up by putting 3 of them down. I wanted to put Gypsy Joe Harris down but technically he already has one “son of Philadelphia” I remember it as decent but not great. Got it from a library in Maryland 8 years ago and I have not felt like buying a copy to reread lol
I like those choices, but, for the record, Julian Jackson is still alive and well. I am looking forward to speaking with him at his IBHOF induction in Canastota next June.
Here is an autobiography of sorts on Sharkey based on a long series of newspaper articles .. https://www.amazon.com/Fought-Them-All-Battles-Prizefighting-ebook/dp/B0098P9RZ2
I think the Coloured Canadian Sonny Jones' story would be worth the telling. Welter, Globetrotting Proven TOP Fighter/Contender and WW2 victim... fought a lot of other noted great fighters, his story sings of nostalgia & the Road of the Prizefighter. another Canadian who campaigned, lived and died in Britain, also was jailed for killing his wife in a jealous rage, but was another worthy tough top fighter on the trail of champion hopes and eking out a living. his name is escaping me I'll get to it... he was based in Bristol for a while.
No you didnt mess anything up my man. Matter of fact Philly has had so many great and interesting fighters I can think of adleast 5 off the top of my head I'd like to read bio's on
Yes!! I have that downloaded to my kindle. Befor it became available in that format the paper version was a small fortune!
