Every single person who had Teddy Atlas in their corner

    Motivational speech master

Holyfield's trainer once told him to not have a cutman, because he thought he could do the job. Turns out, he couldn't, and the fight was stopped due to a cut on Holyfield.

We all know of the infamous Walcott cornerman that put the substance on Walcott to blind Marciano.

Or Ali’s trainers loosening the ropes prior to Foreman or what did Dundee also do didn’t he cut his gloves or something in the cooper fight idk I forget lol. It’s stories like that...little things that could change the course of a fight. I personally fed Marciano Ali and Tyson were most affected by their trainers. We all saw what happened to tyson after Cus passed just a slow decline of his skill set.

I am not sure how much Dundee did for Ali (outside of the Cooper fight.) Ali's gifts (like with Roy Jones) were primarily a gift from god. From the fights I watched (especially against Foreman) Ali completely ignores Dundee's advice. I do agree that (early) Tyson and Marciano were very positively affected by their corner men. Riddick Bowe declined quickly after losing Eddie Futch. And I think that Jack Blackburn's work with Joe Louis is as good as it gets.

    Marciano

Freddie Brown worked magic in his corner. Rock's nose was split in two. Brown saved the day.

Holyfield lost that fight by decision, though it is true Don Turner convinced him cut men were a con ,and ,when Evander was cut Turner was unable to stop the bleeding

    • This was Holyfield's first bout with Don Turner as his trainer, who also served as his cutman. Holyfield dismissed his longtime cutman, Ace Marotta, rather than pay him $25,000 to be in his corner. [2]
    • Holyfield dropped Moorer with a left hook late in the second round, a round which Moorer was winning decisively. Judge Jerry Roth scored the round 10-10. If he had scored the round 10-9 for Holyfield, his score would have been 114-114 and Holyfield would have retained the title with a majority draw. Holyfield's manager, Shelly Finkel, filed a protest with the commission over the second round scoring. [3]
    • Moorer opened a cut over Holyfield's left eye in round five.
    • Moorer landed 262 of 558 punches (47%) and Holyfield landed 159 of 529 (30%).
    • Ed Schuyler Jr. of the Associated Press scored the fight 118-111 for Moorer.
    • Holyfield was hospitalized after the fight. He was suffering from dehydration and a rotator-cuff injury. A kidney bruise was also discovered. He was given a large amount of liquids for the kidney problem, but his lungs filled because his heart was not able to pump the fluids out. He was then diagnosed as having a noncompliant left ventricle. Holyfield retired as a result. [4] A couple of months later, Holyfield said he had been cured by evangelist Benny Hinn. [5] Holyfield went to the Mayo Clinic and was given a clean bill of health. He was told the heart condition appeared because he was over-medicated and over-hydrated in the treatment he received after the Moorer fight. [6] Years later, Dr. Margaret Goodman, former chairman of the medical advisory board of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, said the medical arm of the commission questioned Holyfield about possible HGH use. "There were questions [because] the abnormalities Evander had with his heart were findings that could have been consistent with growth hormone use," she said. "The problem was there was no test and Evander denied any use of growth hormone." [7]
There is no verified evidence that Walcott's corner applied any astringent substance to his body .Many thought Marcinaos own corner caused the problem by allowing a cut solution applied to his forehead to get in his eyes.Al Weill was going crazy and unnerved Rocky's cornermen.

Ali's trainer ,[Dundee , ] did not loosen the ropes, when he went to the ring that afternoon in the company of Bobby Goodman he was appalled to see how loose the ropes were and feared Ali wopuld fall out of the ring under one of Foreman's big attacks.
Dundee and Goodman actually tightened the ropes and that is a verified fact!

There was no prior plan for Ali to use Rope A Dope tactics and after the first time he use dit Dundee told him to stay off the ropes"! Dundee did not cut the gloves in the Cooper fight and never claimed to he said he pulled some of the stitching ,[already loose ,]around the base of the thumb on one glove. D'Amato died before Tyson even, won the title! Tyson certainly did not look as effective once Kevin Rooney was sacked ,but that was quite a while after!
You are right on ONE thing however, they ARE stories and stories without any foundation in fact!

Wow always heard the rope thing as fact! Even heard reporters ask Foreman about it and such. Yes I heard the stitches thing though.

Dundee covers it in his autobiography.

Just a piece of irrelevant info, Foreman v Holyfield,George ,with Archie Moore and Angelo Dundee in his corner must have been one of the most "senior "of trios!

He held it off long enough to allow Marciano the chance to KO Charles
Al Weill gave Brown that compliment in the dressing room right after the fight.

Nope,Brown put a swab in the left nostril the one that had been split in half,it fell out at the start of the next round.Brown was a great trainer and cut man but he couldn't do anything with the split ,which was caused by an elbow.

Nah, Futch was good though often overrated. People tend to overlook that Futch was still training Bowe up to and including the first Golota fight and there were signs that Bowe was already looking like a shot fighter then and effectively only had one major fight which was the rematch against Golota without Futch in his corner.

Emanuel Steward fine-tuned the styles of Lennox and Wlad with great success. He, incidentally, also led Holyfield to his victory in his lone win against Bowe, and years earlier, he trained McCall when Oliver KO'd Lennox.

Gil Clancy worked both Foreman's & Quarry's corner and helped them out
    in several fights.
