He's achieved a lot in British Boxing.

In charge of the National team, Had Froch all the way through his career, he now trains Joshua...

How did it all start for him to be come such an in-demand trainer?

I only knew about him vaguely years ago as a boxer but I never saw him box, I just heard his name mentioned often on Sky, he seems to know a lot about boxing, Froch had a great jab but he didn`t use it enough and AJ has a powerful jab that sets his power shots up well. Wilder would have improved a lot more with McCracken in his corner I suspect.

He is a good trainer but being Team GB coach is a handy gig, gets first pick with the top amateurs.

Not sure what the small print is though as he was clearly AJs coach from day one but had to wait a while before being formally announced

McCracken first came to prominence as a trainer when he took on Howard Eastman shortly after the same guy had beaten him in his last fight.

It didn’t quite work out for Eastman who had the talent to win a world title, but it raised McCracken’s profile as a trainer and gave him a platform on which he built his reputation. He wasn’t far removed from being a world-ranked fighter himself, so that also worked in his favour.

And Froch and mcracken started out training at Lennox Lewis College where they lived in London.

    I love the simplicity!

Anything but handy. Pressurized, target driven and in a ruthless business where your funding level is dependent upon your success.

You have to manage dreams, adolescence, disappointment, injuries and find ways to get an extra 1% in a massively competitive sport.

I would expect many to not be successful in his position.

Transformed the amateur scene. Before he came along we were lucky to get 1 medal for boxing.

I remember working security at 2012 Olympics and I spoke with Rob a few times. Sound bloke, we spoke on the team and their progress through the tournament. Snapped a pic with Loma too.

Don't get too carried away with froch and AJ

Froch only got to the level he was due to his phenomenal punch resistance (something you can't teach), technically he was poor.

AJ is overrated and too stiff. He's a KO waiting to happen.

Seems a top guy and he’s not interested in the hype and BS and just gets on with his job. Can imagine he takes no crap but is methodical and somehow he seems to work his magic with the best.

I'm sure someone said he is only allowed to train one pro at a time so he dosent take too much away from team GB. Not sure how true it is but it makes sense.
