Wlad is half beaten from a mental pressure alone. A Foreman jab is enough to mentally break him , imagine what a right hand behind it would do. Vitali has the right style to beat Foreman II because he could punch and move , punch and move all fight long. Wlad can't punch / move at the same and that is a critical flaw to have against Foreman. Jabbing and grabbing repeatably is probably the worst tactic imaginable to bring to the table against George. Especially if you have a weak chin and fragile mental state. Wlad hugged his ass of against Pulev after his legs were buckled from a jab. He spent 85% of the rounds purely hugging and mauling Pulev .... You spend that amount of time in Foremans connect zone without punching and you're done for. A couple of rounds , tops. Foreman had a great jab. It kept guys on the move. Its very likely that Wlad is totally unable to get off with such a vicious jab being pumped into his face. This is an awful fight for Wlad stylistically.
Holyfield Foreman stops WK.....end thread. Freaking zero defense walking punchbag Brewster simply walked WK down, no finesse, limited skill but enormous grit and that all what it took to crumble WK......jab and grab is suicide against Foreman and WK never ever boxed like Tommy Chin who literally ran from a half a decade older Foreman..........Sam no skill Caveman Peter had WK on the verge of collapsing...................Fact is that WK cannot and never will be able to deal with elite pressure fighters because he is not a natural fighter, he has to think to let his hands go and forced to fight on instinct see Purrity/Brewster/Sanders he packs it in.
Wlad went 11 very active years at the top of the division undefeated. When did George ever do that? Wlad had far more championship pedigree. He outsmarts, outfinesses and outmans any version of Foreman.
Foreman wouldn't catch him. He'd lose and, much like the Morrison fight where he was outboxed by a "glass jawed" fighter cherry picked for him to knock out, the people picking George wouldn't give Wlad any credit for the win after proving them wrong.
"Pfffft. Beating Foreman doesn't mean anything. You saw how big and fast Wlad was? They cherrypicked Foreman for him so that he could have a name on his resume. What a crap fight. All Wlad did was jab him from range until Foreman was worn out. He didn't have the guts to fight George like a man. Yeah he got the KO in the 11th but Foreman was done by that point. Means nothing."
I'm not surprised Wlad is losing on the polls here. This forum doesn't particularly like him. And why should they? The foreign jerk had the gall to be born in the color tv era. That's why it's not a double standard to give the old timers passes modern dudes don't deserve. Coming back from losses to grow into a better fighter is only considered a good thing for old timers. For anyone who turned pro over the last 30 years or so, a loss makes you a bum and a hypejob. Go unbeaten, and you're just a protected cherry picker. Perhaps a more fair matchup would be Wlad vs Tommy Burns. Wlad might pull 60% of the vote on that one.
No, I dislike him because he had the gall to be born in the Soviet Union, and thus enjoyed the unfair advantage of superadvanced modern nutrition.
I voted for Wlad, because I don't think old George can cut the ring well enough to get to him. Prime Foreman has a very, very realistic chance to take him out much more brutally than Sanders did.
Are you crazy? Wald's speed, skills, and power demolish the old Foreman. Tommy Morrison, known for gassing had the " legs " to keep away from Foreman and he did not have a longer reach, a good jab, or a good right hand behind it. In addition Morrison didn't know how and when to clinch. Foreman, who swelled up like a ballon vs Steward is in trouble here. Wlad didn't make his name beating older past greats ( Holyfield, Tyson, ) He did fight Ray Mercer, a very good but not great fighter older fighter, and it was a butchering. Mercer's chin > Foreman's.
Who do you think hits harder, Lyle or Wlad. Or Ali or Wlad, or Young or Wlad? Please tell me. Lyle nearly Ko'd Foreman. Jimmy Young gassed and floored him. And Ali really made Foreman look bad. Wlad doesn't have a good defense? Wrong. And his stamina and punch output, combined with his speed and footwork that George can't match makes this one a bad mismatch. Foreman could not come close to matching the pace. His face would resemble a painted red balloon. He's never getting past the jab. Wlad's right or hook would floor him when it landed flush. Yes--Foreman has a puncher's chance, and that would need to come early. No miracles here like Moorer, a light heavyweight who was easily outboxing George and got caught late. Foreman's performances vs. Schultz, Savereese, and Briggs should make this one a no brainier. Heck he took a glass jawed no skilled,Crawford Grimsley the distance! Does anyone here actually watch Foreman in the 1990's? By the way, Foreman avoided Larry Holmes in the 1990's. He knew better.
