Erik Morales vs Floyd Mayweather Sparring?

It’s probably true as morales pretty much confirmed it. That said sparring is different from fighting, Floyd could just have been unmotivated that day or not taking it seriously. Morales is a bad man but I’d put my money on Floyd at any weight.

 

Heard Floyd stormed out after sparring though. I don’t think an unmotivated Floyd would get angry like that if he didn’t care. You’re right though that sparring is different from fighting so...

Yep agreed. Even though Morales is the smaller man he would be a problem for Floyd. A prime Morales is an ATG and would be by far Mayweathers best opponent of his career.

 

Like others have already noted, without knowing the context it’s possible that El Terrible May have gotten the better of Floyd in sparring though I’ve never heard that. The only sparring story I did hear was that Paul Spadafora got the better of Floyd. As much as it pains me to say this because Erik was my favorite fighter I just don’t see him ever being able to beat Floyd in a fight. Erik’s prime was at 122 / 126. Floyd was a beast at 130. Maybe Erik beats him in a mythical head to head pound for pound fightthough.

 

If he got the better of him in sparring so what it's sparring. With that said no one got the better of him in a real boxing match and that's all that matters.

 

Porter beat up a prime Manny in sparring. That said, a prime Manny KOs Porter.

People have to understand that Manny was probably operating at 60-70% and tinkering with things. Porter, knowing Manny was a superstar, was probably going at 100% because spectators were there and plus he wanted to push himself against an elite fighter.

No one actually things Spaddy would have beaten Floyd in a real fight.

 

Sparring is sparring and styles make fights, You can't say this guy would or would not have beat this guy based on styles, Fighters can come with good or bad game plans, make good or bad adjustments on the night. fantasy fights in boxing are a bit silly, If it were so simple to call fights everybody would be rich from betting on fighters they "know would win" What matters is what happens under the lights, Its like some people only get up for a fight when its against another world class opponent, the same with sparring some people perform best when everything is on the line for real.

 

Cuz he never fought somebody as good as Morales.

He fought guys that were prime ATGs. There is no higher level than that. And he beat them too.

 

There are different levels of atgs mab is borderline top 80 if that he's not on the same level of a srl. Mab nor morales arent on the same level atg as pbf.
