Monzon's going to win on points Leonard has never beat a top ranked middleweight other than Marcos Geraldo Had his chance to make defense of the WBC title but didnt have the right stuff and opted for unknown titlist Lalonde
Why 12 rounds?? So you can favor Leonard because you do not want Monzon to win? LOL … Should be 15 they both fought 15 … Just because Leonard beat Hagler in '87 , doesn't mean he is going to that to Prime Monzon … Ray not active enough at 160 or years up to that .. I'm taking Monzon, 12 or 15 .. He will establish the jab( As hearns did), distance , and he had the motor to go
What is this 12 rd bull**** with you guys? They were both 15 rd fighters. You can always tell the age of a poster by their fantasy fight being 15 or 12 rounds.
That chicken **** 12 round limit. 12 rnd limit...15 rnd limit...won't really matter though...Monzon stops Ray anyway.
Donny was shutting Ray out with the jab , Monzon would do the same minus the getting knocked out part.
Doggone right he would brother. Just like Montequilla that right hand would zero in on Leos head and take him out. And just for the haters delight, Leonard the hero beat up his wife too. For the nose candy then played victim in his book. Boxibgs Oprah
But...but...but....but....only the evil, Night Stalker looking Monzon can be hated and villified by the sensitive souls in this forum for his dark side...not that sweet, smiling, Seven Up drinking, Howie Cosell's darling, America's sweet heart Sugar Ray Leonard!!!
Monzon murdered his wife, fellas. It's hardly over-sensitive to villify him for being a woman-killer. Get a grip.
Leonard s face against Hearns 1 and Duran 3 ?That's what we get here .By the 10 th Rays busted and beat up . Monzon WRSC 11
I gave Monzon a smaller ring as his advantage. Should I have made the ring size 22x22 or larger to benefit Leonard? Leonard’s collection of wins are better than Monzon’s. He had a top level chin, much faster hands and the ability to think and adjust. Leonard of points for me in a very close match up.
At what age and weight? Nice of you not to mention that and who won that fight by stoppage. Assume this fight is at 160 pounds and both are in their prime. Hearns to me hit harder than Monzon, had faster hands and a greater reach. Only the first point is debatable. The last two are not. Leonard solved that puzzle and won their most significant match.
Maybe for you, but not for me … SRL didn't dominate AND keep fighting no where near as long as Monzon did .. 99 fights to 40 .. Do the math , that's more than double .. I'm not so easy to give Ray 30 more fights and assume he is going to be as successful as some do here. No way, you have to earn that.. He had his chance and passed on it .. And he didn't have a better chin than Monzon being never stopped, faster hands yes but so what, he wasn't going to out think the master who always figured his opponents out in the championship rounds... Ray tries his mind games, Ray tries his bolo punches, Ray tries his antics, sticking his chin out , pulling it back in etc. That worked on Hagler but Monzon WAY to collected and focused for that BS
