I know, I know, he's a smarmy ***** looking to line his own pockets but why is it that the football loving casuals that used to hang on his every word, love his top tier fighters and still almost religiously buy tickets to his arena/stadium fights have taken to booing him every time he appears? Whyte Chisora 2 lived up to its billing so they can't have been disgruntled with the in ring action. So what's the deal?
Whilst Hearn might have been less than keen to take a bit more risk with Wilder and prefer to have taken that fight down the line having milked a load of in house fights and mandos, I'm quite sure that Finkel was a lot more reluctant to put Wilder in with Joshua. Hearn has rolled the dice a couple of times with Joshua. Finkel and the rest of the brain trust managing Wilder have only ever really done that twice and that's both with fighters they believed ill and past it.
I think it's weird though. It's like showing up at the party of someone you don't like because you heard some girl you fancy was going and rather than just chatting with her and enjoying yourself looking for the host and berating them. Odd sauce.
1 - He's a boxing promoter and nobody likes promoters 2 - He's a little too slick and smooth for his own good just adds to the distrust 3 - He's too successful, Brits love an underdog and we also love to tear you down if you get too well liked or successful. You see it all the time, we raise someone up and when they get to the top, we wish them to take a fall and take great satisfaction when they do
I think Joshua might be the subtle cheerleader of the anti Hearn brigade lol " lets hear a cheer for Eddie Hearn" ripping the **** knowing hes getting booed..Anyone else I wouldn't think it, but Joshua I think wants a bit of control or keep Hearn down a bit in his cussing
Because he is rich, good looking and successful AJ is going to knock out Wilder and Fury easily and this man is going to make ridiculous amount of money Nobody likes promoters, but he seems like a way better guy than cokehead Oscar or Al Haymon, Don King. I like Bob and Frank Warren and Loeffler
I don't remember Warren being booed despite his awful reputation both with fans and fighters alike when he was the only real option in the UK. Someone did shoot him though...
