Bulldog was easy to hit. Jack busts him up with the left hook and gets him out of there probably around the 8th.
A sure ko for Dempsey...hey, I'm sorry about the Toy Bulldog and all, but hey,...it's Jack Dempsey against him here. Think what Schmeling did to Walker, but cut it down to 4 rounds...maybe 5.
Walker did well in the heavy division - until he met an elite heavy in Schmeling that could punch. He decisioned Risko twice before losing once. He decisioned Uzcudon and Levinsky. Had a draw with mixed views with Sharkey. He couldn’t hurt the big guys and when he faced a good puncher with great timing in Schmeling the dream was cut short. I would think Dempsey with his stamina, and tremendous hook and body punching would bust Walker up eventually and stop him. Although I must say going with Risko and Uzcudon two “in the mold” of Dempsey is a good sign for Walker. But neither of those guys had Dempsey’s pop.
Maybe one. 1. Walker himself said he doubts the world will ever again see a fighter release such power and pure animal ferocity in the ring. He believed Dempsey was far and away the greatest fighter who ever lived.
I've known seasoned boxing veterans over the years who believe so, maybe for a short few years it's the case too.
