One of the biggest events lol. It did 300k ppv buys and a live gate of $3.5 mil.

I'll leave you to do the math.

It was far from sold out. They claimed 17k but that's not 17000 paid attendance.

A gate of $3.5 mil means they gave away thousands of tickets.

Consider over 10 million people would have streamed the fight illegally, and the first real big Heavyweight clash in America those are good numbers and that is without the uk ppvs added into the equation

If the rematch is to go ahead, it will triple it.

And the stadium was filled to the brim, with every top A list celebrity in attendance

It may well have been filled to the brim but the point is they didn't sell those tickets.

The fact you are trying to claim illegal streams to back up said argument says it all.

Going forward can you please share the illegal streams numbers for every PPV. Let's all join this race to the bottom and see who wins in the contest of getting the most amount of people not to buy a PPV.

Just to clarify. A filled arena and the promoters weeks later still haven't released the official live gate numbers should tell you all you need to know. If this fight did a huge gate those numbers would of been released ASAP.

I don't think he needs to fight overseas if the UK is where the money and fanbase is. US fighters only generally went overseas to seek opportunities and AJ has everything he needs right at home. Moreover, Joshua has probably 2 fights in 2019, one in April and the other say October time. Let's judge him on these next 2 fights. If he fights Whyte and Usuk, not so good. If it's Fury and Wilder then great. Bearing in mind though that Fury may self implode again and Wilder doesn't seem to fancy the job. If one or both of those things happen it's hardly Joshau's fault.

And you think Eddie Hearn wasn't giving away tickets to sell out 90,000 when he kept telling the old fable of ''tickets sold out within minutes''?

Your hero never showed any receipts for his sales because we know he was using a third party illegally to buy those tickets outright to drum up the desperation and hype. Parliament had to pass a new law to put an end to the snake's operation.

Yet you have nothing to say about that

We know ppv numbers and ticket sales is where you shine, and you have a lot to say about other sales, but why don't you share with us the viewing figures on who tuned in to watch Povetkin vs Joshua in America?

Are you sure? Did Deontay have more people at the Fury fight than Joshua had at his last fight? Did Wilder or Fury make more money from their fight than Joshua did in his last fight? Did Wilder Fury sell more PPV's than Joshua did in his last fight? Im pretty sure Joshua did more than Wilder or Fury in all of those things. Also the Wilder Fury fight was division number 2 against division number below 10 other than with the WBC who had him at 7. Joshuas last opponent was higher ranked than Fury, The Joshua fight was for more belts than the Wilder Fury fight.

So are you sure it will be for ever remembered? Are you you sure it superseded Joshua's last fight? Also the heavyweight division in the US is not dead, the fans are just waiting for America to find their next great champion. Those American fans were complaining about Wilder and his lack of competition or balls years ago and i think they just gave up on him or recognised a protected fighter when they saw one. So its not like they wernt aware of him they just realised he wasnt going to amoun to much. America comes in with the next Heavyweight superstar and that division will be buzzing again in the States.

I still say there running from Joshua more than vice versa. He's pretty much the money man of the division. Everyone wants to fight the moneyman at least until the money man is a proper unit who's gonna hit you hard...and most probably shorten your career. People begged mayweather for a fight when he was the money man. With Joshua people mention his name a whole lot but no one really seems to want it all that much unless your careers needing it badly. The prime guys that are doing quite well dont seem all that fussed. I still think wilder absolutely bottled it. They tried a con job thinking fury was totally finished.

Joshua looks beatable. But not that sure anyone's gonna get in there and come out without needing to take a bit of a serious beating to win. Don't blame fury if he dodged it for a bit to get himself a little bit fitter/stronger. Whyte has no chance with his new fighting style...the reason he gave him problems was cause of his come forward approach the first fight. Wilder still doesn't have an excuse. He,ll still get a lot more money for it than the fury rematch. Joshua will tee off on miller. i,d like to see him fight Ortiz or ugo ugonoh. The Nigerian guy. Next. Forget whyte. Get him in with one of them two if no one else wants it. They,ll bring problems for him. The rest of the pack who he's not already beat won't cause him too much worry. He looks frustrated to me atm. Wants a good tough fight. Reckon Ortiz or ugonoh would both be dangerous enough to keep the fans attention for now. No one else really available. At least Ortiz is a quality counter puncher and ugo hits like a mule even with his faults.

The only confirmed source I found for the gate was from the LA times.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/sports/boxing/la-sp-wilder-fury-20181202-story.html?outputType=amp

The commission or promoter usually confirms the gate by now. PPV fights have their gates announced.

If we compare the numbers to Kovolov v Ward 1 maybe we get the paid attendance.

For that fight 10,066 tickets were sold in producing a live gate of $3,341,980

Lennox on the money. The reason you book a venue 6 months out is so you have no flexibility in making deals with top level fighters. Instead you find someone who is just happy for the payday, as AJ has done with the 40 years olds and scared to death Martin and Parker he has fought recently.

Who, would you say, has the more impressive resume overall?

It's very hard to say now. You can make a case for Joshua,Wilder and Fury.

    Joshua has the best resume.

The draw hurts them both in a way because if either had won it they'd be right on their way, but going by ranked fighters defeated, Joshua's well ahead.
