Dino is the biggest Wlad hater here. He's claim a telephone pole has better footwork than Wlad if it had a chance of muddying Wlad's reputation.
Does anybody remember how PRIME Foreman was dropped by little 213lb featherfist Jimmy Young? Imagine what a 245lb champion with elite power like Wlad will do to Foreman with his better jab. How about Wlad's concussive punching that dropped the even tougher Ray Mercer? We could do this all day.[/QUOTE]
Forman could take a punch, he would need that with wlad. For his purrity fight, he beat his ass for 10 rounds, it was wlad's 12th fight in a year an second under a month an wlad I think 20 years old. Even his trainer said he shouldn't of pushed him after the 8th round cause he knew he could cruise to a UD. Nice lesson, not sure if you saw the fight, I did, an wlad UNLOADED on him, for him to be standing was very impressive. Sanders had the fastest left in the game, he caught wlad looking past him, wlad did that a lot. But to not understand that wlad lost about 20 rounds in 70 fights, went rounds without being hit, an held the title down for 10 years against any comers. He lost one round to Hayes, he was barley marked up in that fight. An if you can't recognize the dominance of wlads jab, Forman himself said during wlads fights he was commentating for, that was the best he ever saw. Forman could not out box wlad, an no way does he look passed a Forman, he would sit outside an land jabs, straight rights, an hooks. Sorry I just can't see wlad losing except if he went crazy an let guard down, which he does sometimes late an knows the guy in front of him are about to go. Wlad is a top 5 heavyweight, Forman is not.
I like Big George but come on his comeback he was very carefully matched - his best wins Quawi- a blown up cruiser Cooper- a blown up cruiser Cooney- am extremely inactive heavyweight with no defense, and couldn’t clinch. Moorer- a blown up light heavy that was miles ahead until tagged Some of you guys need to learn the art of matchmaking. Even his inspired performance against Holyfield was because Holy was another blown up cruiser. Wlad at 6’6 245 with his athleticism and jab would jab and turn Foreman all night it would get ugly. Foreman doesn’t see final bell. Wlad went 11 years as best heavy in the world something neither version of George accomplished. He also would beat George’s best wins in Frazier and Norton. And Moorer would be gone in 3 rounds against Wlad. Actually Moorer had chance to face Wlad but lost to Castillo and Wlad effortlessly disposed of him in 4.
Bro the topic is about comeback Foreman. Since you mentioned Jimmy Young, yea Young wasn't a big puncher but he could do some things that Wlad couldn't, for example stick and move, and actually use boxing defense to avoid punches, unlike Wlad who relied on clinching - a method that is suicide against Foreman. Yea Wlad looked impressive vs past prime Mercer, but Mercer also had success with his jab - like Pulev. So Wlad has problems with good jabbers. Old Foreman's jab would give Wlad a lot of problems and Foreman's hooks and uppercuts on the inside would finish the job. Old Foreman was a lot tougher than Wlad and is willing to take few shots to land one, and that's no good news for Wlad. We saw that against Brewster, Puritty and almost Peter. Foreman is a lot better than those guys.
Pretty much correct .. not to take anything away from George because to do what he did do at his age was amazing but he choose very careful along the way ..
Naturally both sides are cherrypicking the worst ever versions of either fighter to bolster their arguments. 88-91 Foreman would be a very tough fight for any Wlad, likewise post-Steward Wlad would be a tough fight for Foreman at ANY point in his career. The 45+ year old Foreman who was slow as molasses and had to abandon the cross arm defense because he was too slow to transition from defense to offense would obviously be easy pickings for Wlad.
Briggs lost to a Foreman pushing 50 years old. Wlad aged 30 ducked an older washed up Shannon the Cannon so your point is bunk.
Can Wlad avoid getting hit for the duration and can he handle the mental pressure of being in with the hardest puncher in HW history ?? Can Foreman get close enough to land anything and how much punishment can he take in this one (and whether Big George wins or loses he's going to be getting lit up here) ??
