Well I guess we know why GGG has been ducking Derveryanchenko and Korobov...

I just looked at some interviews and I might have gotten it wrong. Lou seems to have been pushing for Golovkin to get stripped.
I think it was in hindsight that Lou and co said that they didn't want the IBF to strip Golovkin(It being a big fight)

The whole thing is BS, regardless. Golovkin was supposed to fight Alvarez but it fell through. So Golovkin took an easy stay busy fight.
    Suddenly he is ducking Derevyanchenko?
Golovkin did agree to fight Derevyanchenko after Martirosyan. That was in writing, otherwise IBF would not have allowed Golovkin to fight Martirosyan.
Of course then Golovkin chose Alvarez over Derevyanchenko. Cun't move on Golovkin´s part but he was looking for a way to keep the IBF belt.

Does Golovkin choosing to go after Alvarez equal him ducking Derevyanchenko?

Thats wrong , why are you pushing a false narative? Are you intentionally lying or do you just not know what you're talking abut?

I was talking about the first exception Golovkin was granted. From my understanding Golovkin had a written agreement with the IBF to negotiate a fight with Derevyanchenko after the Martirosyan.
Either way, IBF ordered GGG vs D and Golovkin got an exception to fight Martirosyan instead. He then tried to negotiate another exception and thus got stripped.

There was only one exception. The IBF wanted him to agree in writing to fight Dervo after they gave him him the exception to fight Vanes.
He wouldn't , so they stripped him. Loefler paid them 20K to not strip him earlier as well. He wanted no part of that fight and was fully prepared to get stripped.

Is it that Golovkin wanted no part of D, or was it that Golovkin wanted Alvarez?

Alvarez didn't happened until mid Sept and he was unsure if it would even happen during the time we're talking about.
He had 90 days from April to defend his belt against Dervo but proved beyond all doubt he wanted no part of it , so he got stripped for fighting Vanes , not Canelo. Fanboys try to spin it that way but its easily debunked.
There's no justifying fighting 154lb unranked , retired , off the couch Vanes over Dervo. None at all.

I just keep it simple on this issue.

Golovkin was match fit and fight ready. Derev was his mandatory, wanted the fight and was willing to step in on short notice. Golovkin chose not to, instead choosing to fight an unranked opponent.

So ya man... to me he ducked the fight. When youre match ready and you have a clear avenue to make the fight, but instead fight an unranked opponent, I consider it a duck. It is what it is. But thats just my perspective.

:lol:Oh, here we go. For the record, I am no GGG fanboy. Heck, I even had Canelo beating him.

My understanding is that Alvarez II fell through but Golovkin wanted to fight regardless. But he didn't want to take a risk because Alvarez was still on the table.
Golovkin got stripped because he wouldn't negotiate a fight with D. IMO he did it because he wanted the Alvarez rematch. Which happened to be his next fight.

Anyone with any kind of agenda can spin this story. I don't see it as a duck. I think if Alvarez wasn´t there, Golovkin would have obliged his IBF mandatory.

So Golovkin will go down in history as someone who ducks fights?

I guess then Bradley legitimately ducked Khan(to fight Manny...)

You completely ignored a key part of this entire ordeal. Everything that Derevyanchenko and his team tweeted came before the announcement that HBO was only putting up 1m for the fight purse. After the announcement nobody said anything.

I am not sure if what happened between Bradley and Khan is really comparable to Golovkin and Derev. Lets say Bradley ducked Khan to fight Pac. He would have chose the bigger and better fight.

Golovkin didnt have to choose between Canelo and Derev. He could have fought them both.

That being said... even if Bradley ducked Khan, it would change nothing about this particular fight.

Very few fighters go their careers without a duck or two... especially when they get to Golovkins stage of his career.

    It is what it is.

Thats a fabricated unrelated non-issue. The 1m fight purse was put up for Vanes Martirosyan which was being held in a half full stub -hub centre for 30 bucks a ticket.
That fight purse reflected Martirosyans worth , not Dervo's worth. GGG was given 90 days to promote the fight and secure a better venue if he didn't want to fight him on May 5th. He had two opportunities to fight Dervo and refused both of them.
The May 5th date in Vegas was Canelo's date , not Golovkins , so he had no reason to insist fighting on that date in a different venue.
Whats really sad about this situation is GGG had plenty of options but bypassed them all for a lower weight guy who had been out of the public eye for two years. Martirosyan wasn't even calling for the fight but somehow called called up anyway.
There's no defending this because its the absolute truth.

I liked when he said I've nothing against GGG I've just years on here finding any little thing to crucify him over.
I can see why they banned him, the man's a simpleton.
