British fighter of year

Whilst I have to add they are not great names by any stretch of the imagination (two being over the hill on their last legs looking for a cash and grab), his streak has been impressive nonetheless and all of his fights have been exciting to watch.

 

Unified another wolrd title by beating a unbeaten WC in Parker. Then beats the guy whom at the time had the best record in the division apart from himself in Povetkin.

 

In a normal world there’s only one winner and that’s Warrington.
In the present day world of spin and hype it’ll probably be someone else.

 

Any other winner and the award joins the pointless BBC Sports Personality of the year where the govt selects the shortlist.

Absolutely mate

At the start of the year, most of us doubted he was world class and he was a heavy underdog in both fights against Selby and Frampton.

Unlike Fury v Wilder, Warrington absolutely outboxed both, walked though both and won a huge number of rounds beyond doubt against both.

The weak arguments for Whyte achieving this award is beyond belief given that he beat 2 old fatties at the end of their careers and Paint Dry Parker.

This award is a no contest.

Warrington- No need to explain the man has had a great year

Whyte- Beat everyone he fought. All good and well saying Browne is past it now but at the time plenty of people (myself included) thought Browne would win. Fact.

Fury- 2 poor(ish) come back fights. Then that wilder fight. Damn!

Joshua. Kept his belt. Kept his undefeated record.

Happy with any of these 3.

Fury for me, pretty much his first fight back from nowhere nearly beats one of the feared heavyweight champs, goes though a bad knock down and gets up to continue arguably winning the fight. Talk about jumping in at the deep end, you rarely see balls like that these days in boxing. I thought he was cashing out but it turns out he just shook up the whole division, embarrassing Joshua and Hearn in the process. Pretty bad ass.

 

I don't know how this is even up for debate. Warrington is miles ahead of the rest. Whyte isn't even close. A win against an average Browne who was never good in the first place, a dodgy win against Parker and then he goes life and death against an old gatekeeper Chisora again, the same Chisora who got schooled by Agit Kabayel and Takam up until the KO and all of a sudden people are talking him up as fighter of the year? Hahahaha....

A very small group believed he could win his last two fights but he won them well

Fury should get this. Josh had a good year but let's see how he does on the road. Selby and Frampton both have question marks about them whereas Wilder is a fighter in his absolute prime. Fury went abroad to fight him. It was undoubtedly the tougher fight and the greater achievement. Let's all not be silly and think rationally about this.

It was quality like but not enough to be top 3, as wilder is such a poor champion.
