A trainer can't take a nobody and make him great. A trainer can help someone with the right natural gifts become great.
I totally agree, but I put up this question up because I know casuals like Hearn don`t understand that trainers are important are Eubank feels the same way too.
The potential has to be there but I agree I used to compete in wrestling and from an early age went to camps and clinics and got private coaching. For years I went to a coach who opened one of the first clubs near where I lived and improved leaps and bounds but then stagnated after going to him for 4 years or so. I developed in a lot of avenues but then stagnated and even regressed in others. We decided to go to another coach with a different philosophy, teaching style and style of wrestling. The areas I was struggling in soon became my strongest areas. So long story short a coach can tap into new potential and change your style and abilities in the ring if the time is put in and the student is willing
He's wrong. A fighter needs to be trained. Yes a guy can be naturally gifted and powerful but without proper training he's never going to be great. That being said you can have the best trainer in the world but if you don't have some talent you won't get far.
Would n earlier bedtime make Mark into a less annoying poster? Do you feel yr I Q drop everytime he posts?
Yeah Cus is a good example but that’s more a case of finding a kid with potential out of nowhere and raising him as a fighter. It’s building a fighter in every sense of the word, from scratch, mentally and physically. The man was a genius to see tyson had that potential, and enable him to use it to its fullest. It’s also a great example of how a fighter reacts when that influence is gone. I can’t think of many cases like that personally.
