Pacquiao is now 40 years old. And 10 years past his prime. But has somehow managed to stay fringe world class now. He wont be the man in any division no matter how weak it is, but he can still hang around the rankings.

That said the gold standard for guys over 40 is Hopkins. And even he was solidly past prime at that point too. He would gas out instantly. Was slow and pretty much held and grabbed all night long and lost fight after fight.

Right now Pacquiao at 40 is the solid favorite over Broner. About a B- level fighter in his prime. And Broner is the naturally bigger man.

Pretty impressive for a guy as old, worn torn and small as Pacquiao.

Pacquiao doesn't have a risk averse defensive style that's suitable for longevity... And he doesn't have the cushioning of a heavyweight body for longevity. That said, Pacquiao is special and still an incredibly tough out for anyone from 135-147.

Archie Moore knocked out Bobo Olsen when he was 38 years old and gave Marciano hell at age 39 I`m sure at 40 he had a little more left than Manny and Hopkins was very good v Taylor, with many feeling he won both of those title fights outdoing Manny`s last performance v a shot fighter who offered nothing.

Hopkins didn't beat Taylor. He lost both fights. If Hopkins was 32 in those fights he would have easily beaten Taylor.

But he was 40 and his stamina was terrible. He got outworked. He just couldn't throw enough. He had to pace himself and just couldn't get active enough to win enough rounds.

So are people still thinking he beats Lomachenko or have those posters accepted that they're envisaging a version of Pac that no longer exists?

It's unlikely that he beats Loma now. Pretty much nobody at 40 could beat Loma.

Pac is basically shot, but he was the best pound for pound fighter in decades. Even a 50 percent Pacquiao is still a top 10 guy.

Lomachenko ran from the fight. After saying that he wanted the fight, but needed a year to get ready, he then imposed a 137 catchweight. Then he said 135 or no fight. Then he said no fight at all because Manny had nothing left and a win wouldn't do anything for him.

He's back on the juice again but f*ck it, everyone is so he gets a pass.

BTW....I think Pac is a genetic masterpiece. His small frame and lightning fast twitch muscles will keep him competitve until he is completely shot to sh*t

Because you say so does not make it so....
Because you say so does not make it so......

Best pound for pound for decades.......lol......going life and death with the Mexican brawler with a chin Marquez or beating weight drained fighters who had the stuffing beat out of them previously is not the stuff of legends....or walzing with nobody Bradley...but getting treated like a sparring session against Mayweather was highly satisfying........poor Pacy tasted a couple of this so called featherfisted FMJ rights and he went into a shell.....

FMJ did would or will this so called one trick pony pound for pound fighter of decades , lol x1000000, beat 10 out of 10 at ANY weightclass at ANT time of their respective careers. Fact.
