1.Thurman 2.Spence 3.Porter 4.Crawford 5.Pacquiao 6.Horn 7.Garcia 8.Khan 9.Dulorme 10.Broner Couldn’t think of many welterweights that we’re world class after 7 so kinda went with my gut feeling on 8 - 10
Peterson won a highly questionable decision over Diaz and his only other win besides that is David Avanesyan. You could make the argument that Peterson got robbed by Garcia but that was in 2015. There are better fighters with better resumes than Peterson. And Manny got his ass beat by Horn. By no means was it a robbery. it was ESPN who pushed it and fans just ran with the narrative. Just like PBC had Jermell dominating Harrison while in fact it was a razor close fight. So it ended up being reported as a controversial decision. Meanwhile you had Jermall getting his ass beat by Korobov but that was reported as a "though test". Manny is not the #1 guy anymore. And 147 is deep enough to find someone above Peterson.
LOL, no. It wasn't just ESPN saying that Pacquiao beat Horn. The overwhelming majority of the general public, fighters, and boxing fans had Pac winning. Atlas, who's no fan of Pac and a detractor, had him winning. You saw Pac bleeding badly from two headbutts and you saw Pac being headlocked, forearmed, and tossed around like a ragdoll, non of which should factor into your scoring.
I think this is closer to how I would have it. I always feel ratings should be based on results rather than potential and Thurman does hold wins over Porter and Garcia
Unbelievable that no one has Egidijius Kavaliauskas in their top 10, he's clearly a top 10 welterweight now. Kerman Lejarraga arguably is too.
