just watching Pedroza vs Lockridge I now, and Pedroza is doing some nice work backed up to the ropes, and the announcers are missing it even in slow motion. Rocky threw a 5 punch sequence 1 landed solid 2 missed followed by a half miss half hit shot and another miss. When he stops throwing Pedroza lands 4 solid body shots in a row...brilliant stuff.

Sometimes we get wowed by a pressure fighter who presses a guy to the ropes and pins a guy there for large portions of a fight. But Pedroza looks real comfortable there even if the announcers are not appreciating it.

Who are the best guys you think of fighting backed up to the ropes but still hold thier own or surpass the pressure of the more aggressive fighter?

Pedroza and Azumah Nelson come to mind for me.

Roy Jones Jr was also pretty good when he was pushed to the ropes.

I don`t think Nelson did well vs Fenech with his back to the ropes in their first fight, but I`d like to have a look at Pedroza v Lockridge, his slipping ability was awesome.

Not v Griffin in their first fight, he was often caught by shots and missed Griffin with most of his counter punches and he was trounced by Calzaghe whenever he was pushed to the ropes at the age of 39.

Yes, I noticed similarities in the Toney v Barkley fight to Ali v Foreman, amazing stuff.

I would urge you to rewatch Fenech vs Nelson. I do have Fenech winning the fight (even though Nelson is my favorite non Philly fighter). His work from the ropes was excellent both defensive and offensive. Jeff was a machine that night, and even though I feel he won Nelson did some good work if you watch it closely.

I was wondering when someone would mention Ali

Tyson Fury is pretty competent on the ropes

Fury slipped well when cornered on the ropes v Wildder at times but was caught there when he was knocked down the first time in the Wilder fight, but even though Foreman has stated that Fury would have beaten him in his prime, do you feel Fury could have beaten Foreman with his back to the ropes about the same length of time Ali was backed up on the ropes v Foreman?

Nope, Foreman hits harder and is more accurate that Wilder. Simply a class above

Also Ali still had to take shots from Foreman, shots I wouldn't be confident in Fury taking
