Can’t post picture, but have seen a poster for Tyson Fury doing a speaking ‘tour’ early next year. Plenty of dates through February and March. I can’t get my head around that if it’s legit. This is potentially the most important 2 years in his career coming up, and I had hopes of him fighting Wilder in early 2019. I can’t see any way he can do a serious camp whilst doing a speaking tour. He should be locked away in camp working hard and fully focussed. I’m a huge Fury fan, but he’s his own worst enemy and I feel there’s a risk he could lose focus - especially if Joshua and Wilder make their fight. The tour won’t be any good anyway, it’ll be about how he beat VK and recovered from the Wilder shot. My issue with Fury is him repeating his achievements over and over when he should be pushing on to achieve more. If it’s true - I hope someone knocks some sense into him. Can’t imagine Wilder and Joshua would do this sort of thing with so much on the line. http://www.goldstarpromotionsuk.co.uk/goldstar-promotions--events.html
He's going to live off that performance against Wilder for the next 2-3 years the same way he lived off the Dusseldorf performance against Klitschko. Anyone planning on going to this tour to hear Fury tell more of his recycled sob stories, let me save you some time and money, What to expect from the tour ''I ballooned up to over 300lbs and didn't ever think I'd box again'' ''I cared about nothing'' ''Every night before I went to bed, I wished I never woke up the next day'' ''I used cocaine to escape the pain because I gave up on life'' ''I always knew I'd make a return'' ''I'm doing this for every mental health sufferer out there that's going through what I went through '' ''I prayed to God to give me strength and he answered my prayers'' ''This great man here (points to Ben Davison) helped save my life'' ''The Lord Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior''
He has fleeced the PPV mugths, earned millions and no need to fight until powder runs dry. That rules him out of the next fight at Wembley Stadia v Anthony Doshua PPV and his next fight will probably be a Stadium Fight on PPV against Paint Dry Parker type in the summer. Must be a pikey thing as Bully Juice Saunders has not built on his performance against Lemieux either. Make a few miilion, spend it then start over again.
Agree - he’s my favourite HW so I find this sort of thing very frustrating. In my opinion a top form Fury is the best heavyweight but I can’t see how this would help him reach top form. Conspiracy theory time but putting it out there.. I wonder whether a certain promoter has helped make this happen to help take Fury’s eye off the ball..
That’s true but surely there’s a time and a place. When the tour begins it’ll almost be 3 months since the Wilder fight. I could understand if it was now, or even in early Jan.. but Feb/March seems strange scheduling if he has serious aspirations of a huge fight in April/May.
Quick google suggests far more dates than the four on the poster, so he's really hitting the circuit hard. Strikes me that someone in his camp has said that the time to monetise his current popularity is now and that this is a lucrative way of making money from his charismatic personality. It's not ideal for someone who has hammered the booze to be doing these night after night, retelling the same anecdotes and getting his ego massaged. However the commercial opportunities that AJ has aren't available to Fury for various reasons, so this is at least one way of earning that doesn't involve getting punched. I don't think Wilder or AJ could do a night like this, they don't have the personality for it. Tyson does, but can't help thinking this is the sort of thing best left to the post active part of his career. Naturally, this is how the Dark Lord of the Sith operates. Ticket sales for this event are proceeding exactly as he has foreseen.
He's done some public speaking before here and there. The other angle is that when he's between fights he's at risk of driving his car off bridges, so maybe it's better to keep him occupied and in a routine no matter what it is. You can't train the entire time. But the guy needs structure.
Yep, the picture I wanted to post lists 20 dates in Feb/Mar. That’s very excessive. Re: the conspiracy - obviously I’m reaching a bit. But Johnny Nelson is hosting at some point. Made me wonder..
Or maybe it's way for the man to keep focus, if he becomes a figure in helping others it may help his own recovery and dertimation. Good luck to the fella I say
