Wishful thinking canelo will still be at a speed reflex reach and skills disadvantage pbf will always hit him more than Canelo would hit him. He's a bad styles match up for canelo just like he's a bad styles match up for jmm and pac.
Floyd is a bad styles matchup for anybody, but Canelo is also a bad styles matchup for Floyd. Canelo forced Floyd to fight at an extremely high level. Floyd giving a "B" or "C" performance may not have been enough to beat Canelo. Floyd was well aware of this and why he got into such incredible shape heading into the Canelo fight. As to why the rematch didn't happen, it's directly related to the myth that it was a Floyd blowout, that it wasn't even close etc. All 3 judges had it close, it was just that Floyd was so challenged by Canelo that he wanted no part of a rematch for fear of losing. Canelo came close to beating Floyd, closer than pretty much anyone ever has. But Floyd still clearly won based on some of the adjustments he made. But you look at the first 6 rounds each round was extremely close. I never argued that Canelo did enough to win the fight, but the idea that it was a Floyd blowout or an easy night for Floyd is laughable. It's no worse than crying about how GGG was robbed vs Canelo. Canelo came close to beating Floyd, but lost in a close fight, and Canelo beat GGG. That is what happened and fans need to stop crying about decisions and start to recognize close fights when they happen and not be influenced by biased reactions in favor of one fighter over the other.
You keep believing that. There's a reason Floyd wimped out of fighting Golovkin at 160 and he'd wimp out of fighting Canelo at 160 as well.
Don't understand this thread. If GGG has a GOAT chin then what does that make Canelo's? The greatest in existence?
He casually took big shots from (likely PED enhanced) Canelo and Jacobs and don't forget Lemi and Stevens also landed big ones. He definitely has a scary chin, but punch resistance does seem to have a limit. At this point I'd say it's better than Vitali relatively speaking. Vitali seemed stunned by Corrie Sanders, got rocked by a short left early on and went into defensive retreat.
Danny Jacobs hits about 10000000000 light years harder than anybody Floyd ever faced. Let that sink in. 168 always was and still is bumland. 160 is a shark tank in comparison. Even when Golovkin's team floated the idea of a 168 fight, Ward shot it down double quick. Ward didn't want that work Floyd hid in a weak division in order to hide from the big punchers, like Golovkin himself. He said that Golovkin would be #easywork but hid away and preferred to fight mediocrities like Berto and laughable boxers like Conor. Even the guys he beat he stacked the deck against. Au contraire PBF helped many, many people achieve their correct REM cycles. People like me are deeply grateful for his soporific matches. The distance between Golovkin and Floyd is as vast as the Milky Way galaxy. Golovkin would have chewed him up like a rabid pitbull. That's why Floyd kept calling him out and talking about #easywork but never did the slightest thing to act on it.
