Im going to start with some names
    - Courage Tshabalala
    - Pea Wolfrgramm
    - Denys Boytsov
    - Duane Bobick
    -Audley Harrison
    - Joe Mesi
    - Dominic Guinn

How big was the overvaluation with fighters like tshabalala, wolfgramm? were they considered as future champions as if they were bobick boytsov audley?

Tshabala was hyped I fell for it. I was trying to find all his fights.

    Wolfgramm I never took serious.
    Mesi wasn’t all that either.

Bobick I felt bad for after his loss Saturday night live - a comedic show in America made fun of his loss to Norton over and over. Made him a punchline.

Cooney could have done more - the Holmes loss really sent him off track and basically ended his career as a relevant Fighter.

Tubbs could of done more. Immense talent.

Tucker should of had better career.

Drugs destroyed lot of the 80s talents along with don king

Bowe didn`t become the great fighter a lot of fans touted him to be.

Guinn was a big let down for me. Messi wasn’t his fault but medical.
Really think Bonavena could have been champ if he was more focused on ring related things. Rex Layne May had been champ before Marciano if he had gotten his shot. That and Buddy Baer for a guy w that much power and height and weight of the era I feel he should have been champ or at least better then he was.

I hold my hands up, I really thought that Boytsov could be the next big thing.

No one has mentioned Ibeabuchi yet.

    Hell, put Vitali on here.

I think Vitali achieved just about all that people had expected of him when he turned pro though I guess some people think he could have had an even more impressive career had he not suffered so many injuries during it. Ibeabuchi can also be said to have achieved everything that was expected of him up to the point that he was jailed and his career cut short. He didn’t become champion or even got to fight for the title but that was entirely due to his criminal activities outside the ring and not his boxing performances.

I would say this is about half correct. Bowe was excpected to be great, and was! Most rate him top 20ATG.... that sounds great to me by most evaluations. However I think many of us (counting me) saw the potential of a top 10 and maybe top 5 great. Perhaps he did not live up to expectations perhaps they were not realistic? I have not decided in my own mind. But to me he was a great just not as great as I anticipated.
