I have a theory about Anthony Yarde and Tunde

Here me out for a second here guys. I am 6 bottles of Peroni deep, so apologises for the less than perfect sentences coming.

This isn’t a thread to criticise Frank Warren, who I believe is absolved of any blame here and has kept in the dark just as much as any of us. This isn’t a thread to criticise Anthony Yarde’s skills as a boxer. In fact, I don’t think he is a boxer at all.

For those of us of an age here to remember, there was a very popular pop group in the 80’s/90’s called Milli Vanilli, with millions of records sold. They become infamous after a lip-synching scandal, where it was exposed that its own members didn’t actually sing any of their own songs. The duo ended up having to give back their Grammy award in disgrace.

Where I’m coming from with this is that I believe that Yarde and Tunde are pulling off one of the biggest scams in boxing of recent times.

There are just too many things here that don’t add up.

Firstly, Team Yarde’s complete reluctance to face anyone of British nationality.

There was an investigation in 2017 after a Georgian professional boxer claimed that a large number of Eastern European fighters were faking their records to land lucrative fights in the UK. A website we all use and know BoxRec was named at the centre of the scandal.

Promoter Frank Warren said: “BoxRec’s the Bible of our business. I’m shocked. We look up records on BoxRec and agents in the country arrange the fights.

Just for you curious George’s, some of the bouts in question were:

    NATHAN GORMAN bt GOGITA GORGILADZE

    DERECK CHISORA bt BEKA LOBJANIDZE

    MARTIN MURRAY bt GIORGI BEROSHVILI

    CHARLIE EDWARDS bt MIKHEIL SOLONINKINI

    HUGHIE FURY bt DAVID GEGESHIDZE

    DILLIAN WHYTE bt BEKA LOBJANIDZE

Corruption is indeed everywhere and I don’t want to single out a particular group of people but I think it’s fair to assume that boxers from less affluent areas of the world are more likely to be “on the take” than the current crop of known Brits under Matchroom/Warren who have had domestic television exposure. There would also be a much higher chance of something being leaked to the wrong person.

There are plenty of British journeymen for Team Yarde to face, why has there been none? Take a look at all the recent successful UK fighters – Brook, Khan, Frampton, DeGale, Groves, Saunders, Eubank, Haye, Joshua etc….they have ALL faced domestic level competition on their way to the top. Why hasn’t Yarde? He hasn’t even faced a Craig Richards/Jake Ball level of opponent yet. Very bizarre.

Another very strange aspect is the large sample size of fights declined.

To my knowledge Team Yarde have declined fights recently with the following:

Sergey Kovalev, Artur Beterbiev, Sullivan Barrera, Hosea Burton, Callum Johnson, Joshua Buatsi.

I’ve never in 25+ years of watching the sport seen a fighter decline so many fights in such a short amount of time. Again, very bizarre.

Lack of high level sparring – Normally with a touted prospect you get to hear a few sparring stories. Usually vs fighters who they are now in competition with. All normal stuff really.

Except with Yarde, there isn’t any.

The rumour going around is that Team Yarde don’t just decline fights, they decline sparring too with any sort of recognised fighter.

Recently I was hearing stories from when Bellew used to spar Froch, or from when Eubank used to spar Groves, or from when Joshua used to spar Fury. Who has Anthony Yarde been sparring apart from complete nobodies that no one has ever heard of?

Once again this is a very bizarre finding.

    Tunde’s relationship with Yarde

I don’t know about you guys but I get the shivers when I listen to this guy. Look at pretty much any of his interviews on IFL and it will give you the creeps. The guy almost seems to have Yarde brainwashed, either that or he has something bad on him to be able to control him like a puppet on a string like he has.

Tunde’s got history too. Remember when he used to shill some Mayweather/Broner wannabe who got a couple of thousands views whilst doing padwork . Turns out the kid hasn’t even had an amateur fight. Go figure.

Hosea Burton recently confronted team Yarde face to face in LA prior to the Wilder/Fury fight. The result of which wasn’t the cocky, confident “lion in the camp” that we generally get from Yarde in interviews and after fights. He sure looked uncomfortable at the confrontation and could not wait to get out of there.

    A close call perhaps?

Also Yarde is listed as being 6”, yet Burton absolutely towered over him. Yarde also towers over a lot of his opponents including his last one Walter Sequeira, who was billed as being Yarde’s best opponent but must have legitimately been around 5”7 at LHW (Yeah, right.)

Why am I bringing attention to all of this?

Yarde just isn’t a boxer. He may or may not have been an amateur boxer at one time but it’s doubtful he is one now. Not since Tunde got to him. He is now an actor, a pretender, a fraud. He has no desire to take any fights on because he has never had a professional fight in the first place. Tunde seeks out financially troubled fighters far away from these shores that no one has ever heard of. He pays them for a “fight” with Yarde which is nothing more than what Bellew did with Michael B Jordon or Stallone did with Lungdren.

They will continue to target nobodies because that’s all they can do. They wait, until a big enough fight comes along that they can sell as PPV. Then they cash out. Yarde gets destroyed in a round.

A bad day at the office they will say. And they will both walk away rich men.

Yeah as I have said before, I do like the guy but his team don't look interested in stepping up anytime soon and are making it harder and harder to support the guy. The way he looked when confronted by Hosea Burton was extremely weird as he looked extremely uncomfortable and couldn't wait to get out of there. He looked like a kid getting bullied at school.

might not be far wrong but I think he is a bit better than suggested here. Yes - they are avoiding fights to maximize what he makes when he does step up - that is true. 2019 has to be the year he fights a live opponent

We all know that Hearn is the mastermind behind all boxing conspiracies, he set the whole thing up just so that Yarde could "duck" his guy Buatsi and make Buatsi look like a feared beast!

Interesting theory but I firmly believe its a case of just roll along until a winnable title match presents itself

Shame though as I believe Yarde could be in some good fights in the meantime

You could be on to something. Remember when Yarde "boxed" Averlant and made him look good for 7 or 8 rounds. And then Buatsi is fighting him soon after and sparks him out in a round. Hearn has manufactured a hype train from which he can funnel the publicity towards Buatsi while keeping Buatsi away from the criticism of being the actual centre of the hype train.

I’ve called him PADIDAS since he become their boxing ambassador ( How the hell he pulled that off is amazing ).....he is in my eyes a gym fighter and nothing more unless he proves us all wrong by fighting a Hosea or someone half decent. Fwank has to take some of the blame cos he could make those fights and if according to him he is the best thing in his stable then prove it now cos what’s gonna happen is the fans will turn on him before long and his marketability will vanish!

I tend to agree with the post....’Liar in d owse’ looks more appropriate at the moment.

That doesnt explain why he has completely avoided any British journeyman, and avoid any kind of challenging sparring.

Also why does he only give his "international duffers" a maximum of 1 weeks notice? Is he and Tunde even frightened of them?

It looks to me that there is legitimately a con going on here.

Good TS and tbh and can't find any points to object to.

Warren must be in on the scam too as he knows people having been screaming for yarde to fight someone. But I suppose as long as Warren and tunde is getting a cut of yarde sponsership and promotional deals, I.e Adidas we ain't going to see anything change soon

Interesting, it wouldn't come as a big surprise to me to find out your theory was correct. I must say I do find it weird how reluctant both Tunde ''Everything Is Timing'' Ajayi (aka TA) and Anthony ''Lions in the Camp'' Yarde (aka AY aka Mr. Anthony Yarde) seem regarding facing any of the top British LHWs and how defensive they get when people pull them up on it.

And I remember watching an interview where they steadfastly refused to disclose the names of any of the sparring partners Yarde has worked with as well, which I found a bit odd too.
