But if anything that shows that even though he's getting on in years he's still fighting at the same high level. Most people feel he should be up 2-0 against Canelo, so he's certainly not "shot"...

He’s not shot at all, but I would fancy Canelo a lot more in the next fight. He’ll get a big pay day and say he loses, where next? Does he fight lesser fighters for lesser money? Go for good fighters for again lesser money? If he loves it that much but I just don’t think he will. He’s having this DAZN deal going on, it could be a 5 fight deal or whatever and you’ll be right, or it could just be per fight. We’ll see what happens...

I mean...yes, absolutely, why the hell not?

People need to realize that if Canelo III doesn't materialize or even if he gets robbed again or even suffers a legitimate defeat - so what? He just picks up where he would've been in 2019 in an alternate timeline if Canelo never existed.

Same here, I don't see any reason why he wouldn't, its mainly just chitter chatter from the gadflies on the net pushing that narrative. One thing for damn sure is I'll be pissed if he doesn't take on Saunders, a fight I've wanted to see for the last now going on 5 years, and fingers crossed, we might still get to see a Korobov match after his excellent showing against Cubby Charlo.

He didn't get the money obsessed diva image overnight lol.

He has proved himself over many, many years.

This would actually be another example of taking the lowest risk for the highest reward just like you admit in the op.

Probably not the finest example though. Brant is a decent fighter with a ton of heart. Could be a hell of a tough night for a bloke looking worse by the minute.

Canelo is a very good fighter but not the p4p king GGG made him look.

Billy Joe would white wash both of them and Smith will decapitate them

That would go a ways toward balming the wound of the Golovkin vs. Pirog match-up the universe deprived us of. (re: Saunders and/or Korobov)

I'd like a fight with Jacobs or Charlo

I fear now that GGG doesnt have a belt but is still a top guy so fighters will have even more reasons to avoid him

I see a Brant fight as setting the proverbial table for a huge fight - ie a Charlo, BJS, or Canelo - in the second half of 2019.

Remember folks, it was all but written in stone a few months ago that Golovkin was to have fought Murata in early '19, under the assumption that it would set table for a bigger fight a few months later. I'm not sure why people can't wrap their heads around Brant simply having taken up that mantle from Murata. Brant did BEAT him, you know...

Like I said before, a lot will be revealed when GGG’s deal with DAZN is revealed. It could be a multi fight deal and then that will tell us of where his desire is. Deserves all the money and respect he gets either way, top bloke and top fighter...

i didnt see the fight so i wont comment too much but sometimes a guy beats the guy and upsets the fight and that puts the winner in vs the draw and he gets cracked

    Canelo vs Lopez
    Bowe vs Ferguson
    Klitschko vs Leapai

All those guys upset the lined up guy and then got drilled in mismatches. I dont really have much interest in him fighting Brandt. Even though I thought GGG vs Canelo 2 was a fair decision he didnt come away a "loser" given the closeness of the fight and controversy. He fought Jacobs and Canelo twice and to me this would be a huge letdown in match making.

Maybe I'm dead wrong and Bradnt winning was a big win and a sign of his real level as a fighter. But in my eyes he stands no chance and is uninteresting in the larger picture like say a win over Jacobs in a rematch or beating Charlo or Andrade or Saudners

In essence I'd like GGG to call these other fighters bluffs who say they want the fight

Brant has a real good chance at out boxing GGG. He knows how to box tall and if he can keep GGG out of his guts, then it's an entertaining fight with the winner not being a foregone conclusion.

I agree with all of this except I'd favor GGG pretty damn heavily...

    Golovkin Vs Smith (April)

    Canelo Vs Jacobs (May)

Winners fight in September in a "Mega" fight.
