I always thought her a little overrated, just as Rousey was, and considered their rivalry more of a "Layla Ali vs. Ann Wolfe" promotional circus than a true once-in-a-lifetime chance to potentially determine one gender's p4p GOAT as it was sometimes hyped to be (until sputtering out and never even taking place). That said, her unbeaten streak from her MMA professional debut in May 2005 until last night - a streak in excess of 13½ years!! - has to be up there among the record-holders in combat sports, within a single discipline (she did lose under Muay Thai kickboxing rules in 2014). The quality of her opposition was remarkable for going 20-0 in that span, with seventeen knockout victories no less (a very uncommonly high percentage in MMA) - even if she was something of a weight bully. Where does she place, historically, in light of all that?
She's one of thee best ever, no2 it looks, could be in time, no1 ! I don't get the hate, yeah she looks masculine, probably a ped cheat but they all are. She comes across quite a nice human being to me
Cyborg was/is an awesome fighter with good grappling to back up her big threat, i.e. her kicking boxing. Unfortunately she just got badly kayoed by a smaller woman in the biggest fight of her career. Given her tumultuous relationship with the UFC brass, and the fact that she has only 1 fight left on her contract, its likely that she'll never get a chance to rematch Nunes. If I had to guess, Dana cuts the 145 lbs. weight class and does a Nunes vs. Holly Holm fight at 135. That's actually a good fight. I found Meisha Tate's comments interesting during the build up to this fight. Months and months ago, when the bout was just being teased, Meisha confidently said Nunes could kayo Cyborg by bombing her with straight punches up the middle, which was exactly what happened. She said that Nunes 'punches like a man' and that her power was leagues ahead of anyone else in WMMA. Sara McMann, another Nunes victim, had similar things to say. Something to the effect of Nunes having 'monstrous' power. Maybe Ricardo Torres went into hiding in Brazil after his second fight with Kendall Holt. Maybe he got a sex change, became a BJJ black belt, and changed his nickname to 'The Lioness'. At least that's my theory.
Dana "WHITE" still won't treat Nunes with respect even though she is on a proper tear through the ranks and moved up to fight the monster of the womens division. The UFC bent over backward for Rousey calling her the Greatest fighter of all -time, not greatest female, but greatest FIGHTER of all time and was predicting what man she could beat. Nunes could probably bang it out, pun intended, with a few dudes head up. Where is her respect from this juiced up A-hole Dana? Congrats to Amanda and now she can go home and **** her wife, long dick style!
I think she got caught cold. Still a better fighter than Nunes who was lucky to get the nod against Shevchenko the second time around.
You do not know **** about MMA. Stay in your lane clown! You are the same guy who called elite level Judo a "pillow fight".
