That's lazy--you don't need steroids to put on weight. Today's players lift a lot of weights and eat ridiculous amounts of carefully-planned calories. They benefit immensely from modern approaches to strength and conditioning. (Side note: I actually talked about this at length with a now-retired NBA player at a friend's wedding a decade ago. Couldn't believe his off-season eating and exercise regimen).

No it's not. The fact of the matter is that Usain Bolt ran a 9.58 and Jesse Owens only ran a 10.3. That's an enormous gap. Until I see some extremely persuasive evidence to the contrary, I'm going to assume that the guy who ran the 9.58 was significantly faster than the guy who ran the 10.3.

THEY LITERALLY DONT EVEN TEST FOR PEDS IN THE NBA

YOU THINK BASIC ASS CALORIE COUNTING WAS INVENTED RECENTLY?

Modern training isn't that different with the exception of weightlifting, which became more accepted. I still only find it to an equivalent of band tension and calisthenics in developing explosiveness. Conditioning is dead

On Ash trail, barefoot, no blocks to explodes off of, and no steroids (bolt's team was caught with steroids BTW). Stop ignoring my other points

I never would like a fighter or not due to his fanbase. I think some fanbases are ridiculous and won't admit to their fighter having any weaknesses.

Sugar Ray Leonard fans are among the worst!

    Ali
    RJJ

Thier fans can be unbearable at times.

Modern ones GGG fans are annoying as anything the past few years. Canelo/DLH hate borders on irritating to the point I don’t even want to chime in on any thread involving them.

Haters of fans can be equally annoying.

Not sure I hate any boxers but there are about 5 I think are overrated or their greatness is way overstated

Wouldn’t let it cloud my views on who to like or dislike but I’ve found the following fanbases unbareable

    Tyson
    Jones
    Pacquaio
    Canelo
And maybe the worst have been Mayweather.

Wilder -arguably the most self deluded boxer in the HW division with an even more delusional fan base to match. I can't stand them.

Yeah, that’s the one I was referring to. We’ve discussed it in a few threads and I think it’s flawed in a number of ways that exaggerate how poorly a top sprinter today would perform in Jesse Owens’ conditions.

Duran's, Hagler's and Tyson's fans can sometimes ruin those fighters for me a bit.

Kelly Pavlik. If you want an idea of what it would have been like if Gerry Cooney had beaten Larry Holmes ...see Kelly Pavlik

I hate the “MAN CRUSH “ that Joe Tessitore has on Lomanchenko. It makes the fights hard to watch. And how many times does he need to explain to world how a fighter like Lomachenko could possibly have 1 loss. Just ask the guy out on a date already

Every fan base goes overboard, especially on Youtube. Some more than others. I'm a huge fan of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones because I never saw anyone better on film.

But I've never seen a fanbase as rabid and irrational as the newer, younger fans for their fighters. And the way Money May flaunts money around like it's the only thing that matters in life is exactly what the propaganda machine wants for the future. Illuminati, elite, whatever you call them - but that's another story for another time...

    Mayweather
    Klitschko
    WIlder
    Marciano
    Foreman
    Tua
    Lewis
    Tyson
    Pacquiao
    RJJ
    Duran
    Ali

Except Pavlik got wrecked by B-hop. Maybe they aren't so different after all.

    Honorable mention to Duran’s fans.
