Canelo won both fights. G hardly won any rounds clearly in the first fight. Maybe a few of the middle rounds, and he still got rocked in those rounds. First 3 rounds and last 3 rounds Canelo got the better of G and most gave Canelo those rounds, then you have 4 and 5 two much closer rounds from the first 3. G simply was not able to convincingly win enough rounds to win. A draw was very favorable to GGG. G was lucky to get round 4 on all 3 cards, he didn't deserve to win that, the judges were looking for reasons to give him a round after the first 3 rounds.

You continue to talk about corruption like I'm ignoring it. More importantly, you need to score the fight yourself. GGG shouldhave lost that first fight, he got outboxed, Canelo won more rounds, Canelo landed more body shots, Canelo landed more big eye-catching punches. When you do that you usually win the fight. Here you are crying that GGG was robbed due to some corruption but yet he was getting outboxed round after round and getting frustrated at not being able to hit Canelo cleanly. You can plainly see that so when it comes to the scorecards giving GGG 6 or 7 rounds as two judges did is extremely favorable to GGG.

 

Most gave GGG rounds 4-9 in the first, with rounds 1, 3, 10, 11, and 12 being close.

Many have made that claim, we are looking at two sides of the same coin.

The consensus was that Canelo did better in rounds 1-3 & 10-12 while GGG did better in rounds 4-9. However upon closer inspection it's just not that simple. Canelo arguably won round 6 for example and round 4 was just assumed to be a clear GGG round but it wasn't. That was a round that could easily be scored for Canelo. Round 5 if G won it, he won it down the stretch, not by winning the round start to finish, as Canelo was clearly winning the first half of that round before G finished the round strong. Rounds 7-9 G was outworking Canelo and Canelo was picking his spots, but Canelo still landed the biggest single shots of those rounds.

So you could very easily give some of those middle rounds to Canelo. What so many fail to understand or observe about Canelo is that he is not easy to win rounds against him, and I don't mean that in a judging conspiracy way. It's that Canelo knows how to keep a round close but landing a big shot or slipping punches and countering, he does things in there that makes it very hard to score rounds against him. That's why it's clear when you study the footage and observe and credit what Canelo was doing in there, he should have won the fight, and really it was very favorable judging for two judges to give G 6 or 7 rounds. Many of those rounds were Canelo rounds that judges were just giving G for throwing a lot of punches. They weren't paying attention to the quality of the punches or what was actually landing effectively.

 

In my mind, the most dangerous GGG we will ever see has happened. He was the one guy that actually beat Canelo and didn't get credit for it and he'll never be that good again. Please note that I say this about a guy that (based on his interviews) I would offer a meal, my spare room and as many drinks he cares to consume and a ride to the airport the next day. Seems like a righteous dude, but somehow he never found his proper foil.
