This guy has been fighting for 15+ years, and his only loss happened in 2004. After that he has fought in a world title fights since 2007, having won belts in 4 different divisions.

He has a record of 17-0-2 (7 KOs) in world title fights. Now, he won his 4th division world title at the age of 36.

Nietes is 9-0-1 (3 KO) against former, current, and future world champions:
Amazing career achievements, definitely HOF worthy.

That loss was weight-class busting BS anyway, his opponent didn't even try to make weight.

Why has he never been p4p really? Four weight world champion doesn't mean what it used to of course but it surely carries some weight still.

I really like Donnie. Snake. I was impressed with that performance. Sort of set out to out-squabble his man in distinct exchanges enough to times to pilfer rounds. You could see the difference in experience for all that Ioka has a really good argument for having won that fight.

Nietes has always been underrated but with this win they better take out spence, move nietes up and enter santa cruz. I have no ****ing idea what the hell spence is doing in there.

He was actually rated in June 2018 as #9 p4p by The Ring if I'm correct

Haven't seen Nietes vs Ioka yet but it doesn't surprise me that he was able to pull it off given his age. The lower weight fighters never get enough attention. Other than Chocolatito, who only lasted on top for a short while, no other current small fighters have gotten their just dues. Hope more people take notice on Snake.

IMO there are 4 Filipinos who are HOF fighters: Pac, Donaire, Nietes, and Viloria.

You missed pancho villa and flash elorde but if you mean of the current generation i just want to ask. You think viloria is a hall of famer?

Gonzalez was champion for ten years over four weight, I wouldnt say he was on topnfor a shirt while, just no one noticed him for the majority if his reigns.

I actually wouldnt mind Gonzalez v Nietes next. Be a good fight.

Yes I meant current generation of Filipino fighters, I should have worded it better. I think Viloria's resume gets underrated and, for me, has done enough to warrant a place for HOF.

What I meant was that Chocolatito was given a good amount of exposure (partly thanks to co-featuring with GGG) and was seen briefly as the P4P best fighter ever.

Yep he's got a pretty good resume i just hope that his losses to estrada and choco doesn't pull his chances down since losing on their biggest fights like viloria is whats preventing ceferino garcia(whos in wbhof) from getting inducted in ibhof.

That's what I fear. His losses to 2 great fighters shouldn't derail his previous achievements. Still remembered when he stopped Giovanni Segura who was coming off 2 victories over Calderon. He's had a nice run and was always entertaining to watch.

Yeah, he was the best flyweight in the world for a spell. Before Estrada got to him, and that was a good fight. He's #3 for his generation but that's because Choc and Estrada, so nothing HOF limiting about that.

Wins title in 4th division at 36 against a very game opponent. Definitely a special fighter....... No doubt about it
