Well, McLarnin beat the reigning flyweight champion, ATG Pancho Villa, and also defeated a young Olympic gold medalist and future flyweight champion, Fidel LaBarba to win a regional flyweight belt. And McLarnin's earliest recorded weight was 104...below the current minimum weight limit.

Was the belt not on the line? I have no idea. This history goes way back.

The fight was over the weight, so no. But McLarnin's career still remains the one that most closely resembles Pac's in terms of trajectory.

Pacquiao was a sfw who had 1 fight at LW and jumped to WW for ODLH. He was a very small JWW at the time and going for one of the baddest guys at WW. He was testing the waters.

And yes what cotto and his team says before and after the fight, A’s ultimately they know, whereas you’re guessing to support your biased agenda.

Cotto got beat by Margarito and arguably by Clottey, he also struggled with Mosley. You know what Pac did with those guys? Dominated them just like he did with Cotto. So if anything, the way Pac cotto turned out is EXACTLY how Pac cotto should have turned out, and not a one off because of any circumstances like cotto was dehydrated. If Cotto was dehydrated he would have been beat like Oscar.

Jesus people, apply a little bit of logic.

This is like lomachenko fighting Joshua, getting ktfo and acting like it’s unusual, and making up some sort of excuse like Loma was sick that day. Loma was suppose to get ktfo just like cotto was suppose to get dominated. He showed he was more or less around the same level as clottey, Mosley and Margo whom Pac at the time best just as easily. Cotto putting up a much better fight would have been the unexpected result in hindsight.

Pac was that good. A level above those guys in his prime.

Pacquiao is an all time great, probably the greatest of our era, but I'm not interested in seeing him v poor opponents like Broner.

Fight the best in the division like Porter, Spence, Crawford* Thurman etc or retire.

*assuming he proves it at some point

And yet after that, cotto moved up to junior middleweight lol. If Pacquiao is soo godly amazing? Why didn't he fought Cotto at ww limit with no catchweight?

Yeah and oscar said hes 100 percent healthy heading in the Pacquiao fight in which do you really believe him? Get what I'm saying? Cotto ain't going to make excuses but real boxing fans knows that wasnt a healthy prime Cotto who hasnt really been the same since he got destroyed by margarito with the loaded gloves. And I thought clottey beat cotto before Cotto fought Pacquiao.

You're just a mindless hater. Watch the weigh in. Cotto wasn't drained or affected by the weight at all. His face was full, no hollow cheeks, no sunken eyes, and his skin didn't look parched. Basically, he exhibited zero signs of being drained, drawn, or struggles to make weight. That's just facts, dude. Included links to pic.

Not to mention that on fight night, Cotto was strong as an ox. His punches had a sickening thud to them and you can see and hear how strong his punches were. Hell, Cotto popped Pac's eardrum and wasn't close to being stopped despite the fact that Pac hit him w/ everything and the kitchen sink. It was a mercy TKO by Bayless.

If cotto was soo healthy, why this fight wasn't on the ww limit with no catchweight? Smh. Cotto didn't look right when he went to the ring vs Pacquiao. If Pacquiao is soo amazing? He should've fought cotto at the ww limit with no catchweight bs.

Signing with PBC may not have been the best idea. Their plan all along has been to job him to Spence and they dangled the possibility of a Mayweather rematch to lure him in.

Although I do look forward to Pacquiao-Broner.
