Yes it could be but it's hard to not get drawn into a fight when someone is swarming you and cutting the ring off.
I thought they were out of order stripping Fury a few years back for having a rematch clause with Klitschko. Then being ok with Joshua when he had a similar issue.
The IBF may grant a single exception for a unification, which Fury-Klitschko was not. In agreeing to the rematch clause, Fury will also have received more money for the first fight. Mandatories do mean that we sometimes get duds like Brook-Dan, but it also helps make top class fights like Brook-Spence.
The IBF granted AJ an exemption to rematch Klitschko bud...whereas they wouldn’t do the same for Fury and stripped him almost immediately.
Forgive me for regurgitating Eddie Hearn, but I believe it was explained that Fury's promoter ( Hennessy) did not apply for the exemption within a specified time following the Klitschko win and was thus stripped off the IBF.
Exactly, the fight itself is a decent one, I have no problem with it but for me the more interesting aspect is the Hearn and Warren side of things. Especially after all the recent pops and digs from Warren.
Yeah, probably more, I'm not sure what percentage a mandatory challenger gets with the IBF, could be around 20% if my memory serves. What I'm saying is.. Hearn has backing, not only from Sky but DAZN, FW has just watched Warrington beat Selby and Frampton and will want to move forward with him. He will want to stick Warrington back on BT, maybe even another PPV, and he will definitely want to stick Warrington in a big venue with his solid fanbase. But, If this goes to purse bids and Hearn (and Sky) wants to get Galahad "home" advantage and also poke Warren and BT right in the eyeball then he could well bid quite large. You only have to look at Saunders Vs Andrade, Warren didn't even bid because he knew he would get slaughtered.
Warren didn't bid because a deal was done b4 the purse bids. He said a crazy offer came in and it Wud of been stupid to turn down with how confident they were of winning the fight. A mandatory fight with ibf gives the champ 75% of the purse.
Yes I know, it didn't even get to purse bids because FW struck a deal because he knew he was going to lose. FW can spin it any way he likes but the fact is Hearn/DAZN took that fight out of his hands. Depends on what way you want to look at it because it's OK saying "we took a huge offer" but I f FW had won a purse bid the fight would have been in the UK and Saunders wouldn't have failed a test, so maybe in hindsight he should have ensured he backed BJS. Anyway, regardless, one of FW's "stars" at the time was going to be dragged to another country and on to another platform.. until he failed a drug test, lost his belt and a major payday. Also, You can say they won't be interested but they might be now Warrington has just beat Frampton, also two British fighters, domestic world title fight, it's not a bad fight, we have been fed far worse. We will see what happens, I wouldn't be surprised if Hearn gets the fight on Sky/DAZN and FW has another meltdown.

Absolutely no chance. What interest has America got in Kid Galahad? Then consider Warren has BT PPV money at his disposal here and that he can account for stadium ticket sales too in his bid.Hearn has nowhere near as big an arena to use,can’t do PPV,hasn’t invested in Galahad before and would have to front 75% of the purse to Josh. DAZN were not interested in bidding for a heavyweight bust up like Whyte - Chisora, why on earth do you think they would want to back Eddie with what would have to be a crazy bid to beat Warren/BT for a much smaller fight between Warrington -Galahad which will have to happen in the UK unlike Andrade - Saunders? Anyway DAZN/Hearns’ working partnership is quite clearly coming to the end but that’s another thread.
