we're not allowed to even attend this one, as well as not paying for the PPV?! give us half a chance Jurgs.

It's actually fairly decently priced for a fight between two known fighters at the O2, most expensive seat in £300.

Could get a peak audience of well over 5m on itv1 with hardly any marketing, be a miracle to get anywhere close to 500k on box office

TV is massively different to how it was back in the early 1990s when Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn were massive.

ITV was one of 4 TV channels that everyone watched because they had no choice, and it was just before everyone started getting sky around 1992 onwards as the premier league started in 1992-1993 season.

ITV is really small fry these days. Sports fans all have sky sports and BT sports and rarely watch any of the boring trash on the old channels 1-4.

Its not as easy today as it was back then for ITV to make a success of boxing, and looking at who they have in charge of sports and boxing there I can tell you they are pretty poor calibre management. Its very likely to flop because of the bad management and complexity of making it a success being beyond those in charge.

Eubank Jr is also the wrong horse to be backing like this.

That's not really a surprise. If it was just about viewing figures every fight would on terrestrial TV because everyone with a television has it. I doubt any promoter would be shocked by the idea.

this guy is clearly an insider very high up in the tv industry to know such sensitive information

crazy numbers though, I can barely comprehend what ONE THOUSAND pounds looks like, let alone spending it in thirty seconds just to reach a primetime audience of millions

Its more than that man. £1k will get you an advert on one of those 2am late night quiz things.

    £3k for Lorraine
    £5k for Tipping Point
    £30k for Corrie

Say what you want but everything sky does in the build up to a fight is well polished and really well presented. They have recognisable faces too, basically they invest a lot into the fight and reap the rewards. That's what ITV need to do.

Unfortunately they're promoting literally the two most unlikeable british boxers you can find today. Usually the narrative is there's one ******* and one good guy these two are both assholes.

That is pretty mental, Sky is a lot less though as fewer people have it. I got the number from reading £1k for the Simpsons. And of course, nobody buys one advert slot.

EDIT: Just reading that Sky Sports is actually cheaper than that, so may be well worth their while pumping it on that.
