You SEE, when the OLD Film is RIGHT so are the Fighters...

No more "they don't look good on film..." EVERY Fighter would look poor on film when the FILMING is POOR. people did things just as we did today, walk, run, eat, sleep, breed and fight. No Diff!

now X's Times that by DOZENS of Fights, different Days, different Men.

Thanks, Thistle. This is a great film and it just exudes how good these two were.

I've no problem saying these are great fighters ,it's when posters rank domestic level guys like Ginger Sadd etc as great I get the hump.

No one ever said you did, you believe past fighters were great and just as good and/or better than many modern or current fighters.

it's for all the guys who say "look at them, look at the footage, they look like s hit, it's for all them guys who don't understand or won't admit that the FILMING and/or Film was s hit, NOT the fighters.

As to Ginger Sadd and the like, I'll through in another couple of names too, Sonny Jones, Vic Folley, Jim Brady, Theo Medina and literally HUNDREDS More... these Were/ARE Great Fighters. To Swim at the Top and Compete with Excellence Win or Lose makes Great Fighters.

when we all know about the BUSINESS of Boxing, the Ownership of Fighters, the Robbed Decisions, the Corruption and the Overall Skulduggery that Took/Takes Place...

then how you can even believe Champs & Contenders in many cases are the DEFINATIVE Best is silly and deliberate. they weren't always as many an writer, reporter, manager, fighter author and researcher have stated, revealed or exposed in well over 100 years of the Sport, oops, I mean business.

the first footage I found of GREAT Old Film, again was that Australian Footage, which also should Archie Moore fighting there in 1936 or 1937. So in keeping with the thread, to all those fans that can't get past Old S hitty Film, well when the Film is RIGHT so ARE the FIGHTERS, now again Times that by dozens and dozens of fights, well Special Fighters you have Indeed.

To me great fighters get great results against other great fighters and those you mentioned did not, so for me they were not great. I use the term great very sparingly myself.
