IIRC Dwyer's fight with Elliot was said to be his first under the LPR, which would mean Dalton beat him with gloves. Has any of you seen the report of that, can you say either way?
I believe they sparred as part of a testimonial to Dwyer who did five nights in Chicago, just an exhibition.

Dwyer was at the Folly Theater Feb 28-March 4. Chandler, a George Brown, Dalton and Donaldson were there too.
