Not only would he have to be the consensus P4P no.1 but he would hop over both Bud and Crawford in terms of legacy rankings. I don’t know about you guys but I’m also impressed when a guy cleans out the division and then goes to immediately take on the boogey man in the division above. Thoughts?
Kicking his ass is an exaggeration he was barely out boxing Wilder in a close affair and that's not exactly that hard to do when Wilder's boxing skills are so poor.
Ortiz (only just in tge top 10 HWs in my opinion) is very overrated however Usyk is in my opinion already the number 2 pound for pound best after Loma.
I rate Ortiz, I always have. That’s why when Wilder beat him it made me feel vindicated about supporting Wilders abilities.
Ortiz beats Miller,Whyte for me, comfortably beats Pulev, Povetkin, Parker and Breazeale. Only guys I have ahead of him right now is AJ, Wilder and Fury in terms of a head to head fight not off resume.
The boogeyman claim gets taken out of context to much for me. In boxing all it really means is ‘talented fighter, with few benefits of fighting him’.
I don't think #1, but it should soldify him in the top5 for anyone who doesn't already has him in there.
Mikey jumping two weight classes would be more impressive, hypothetically. Spence (World Champion, Young, Undefeated, Better resume and better win than Ortiz anyone Ortiz has beaten -Kell Brook) Ortiz (never a world champion, old, has been beaten, poor resume, best win Bryant Jennings)
You are way way overrating Ortiz here. These are all pretty close fights and he more than likely loses 4 out of these 6.
I like Uysk at HW. But I won't give him much credit for beating up a pension-collecting heart patient who is vastly overrated just because he is from Cuba.
I think all of AJ, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Pulev, Fury, Miller and Wilder beat Ortiz. All of which certainly have more proven records against top 30 opposition (Ortiz has only ever fought 2 in Jennings and Wilder).
