We've seen him stunned in his past few fights, could there be something there that's concerning? Is there something brewin'? Discuss.
He just KO'd Stevenson in the 11th after walking through countless flush straight lefts early that have frequently KO'd guys with good mandibles, then ate a savage left hook that nearly took his head off in the 10th and he didn't even go down fully, and recovered immediately. NO, THERE'S NOTHING ****ING WRONG WITH IT.
I had suspected that Gvozdyks chin wasn't all that durable before the Stevenson fight. I didn't think it was enough to hold him back from ruling the division however. The Stevenson fight showed me that he could take a harder shot that I anticipated. I had Gvozdyk pegged as the h2h best at LHW before the fight and his stock went up after he proved me wrong on the one thing I had questions about.
A huge puncher that could land more than one punch at a time will give him problems, but that would be a problem for all current light heavyweights too. He recovered from the shot that Stevenson sling shotted him off the ropes with, so I wouldn't call his chin weak. Stevenson, though old and well past it was still one of the biggest punchers in boxing.
