What big name opponent can Callum get in with him though? Cant see Canelo coming over here so that leaves GGG.

I genuinely think that this signing has been more Eddie than Liam. Eddie has dangled the carrot of Anfield, but the real reason has got to be Khan - with Liam on board they still can squeeze a bit of meaning out of Kell's career with a "HUGE DOMESTIC GRUDGE MATCH PPV." And he can just slap Khan and say if you fight Crawford the Brook fight is gone.

To me at this moment in time it's a great chief support for a ppv main event, but as you say not a headliner. Very good fight though.

yeah, good fight, and definitely worthy of chief support to a Better fight, but it's definitely on their minds to whack it on as a headliner haha

Wouldn't surprise me either m8. If it was on a platform as a ppv with no subscription costs then thats one thing but on Sky when everyone pays so much it would be taking the ****, though it would not surprise me.

There is no chance this can be a PPV headliner. If you look at the Brook's previous PPV numbers they are poor (GGG aside) and Smith isn't any sort of a draw. They have obviously got Smith over to fight Brook (like Khan or Cleverly v Bellew) but it will probably go with Callum v Ryder type on a joint PPV.

Anfield very unlikely to happen as it costs more to hire anfield than it does to hire a wembley according to hearn.

Is Callum Smith as big of a draw as everyone is making out? No casual fan outside of Liverpool knows him. If I said to my boss "Callum Smith is fighting Ramirez" he'd ask me if it clashed with Ant & Dec, whereas if I told him AJ was fighting Tim from Corrie he'd be all over it.

To be fair all my mates are aware of Smith and they are all casuals. Some of them are fans of Smith because of his destruction of a few of his former foes on matchroom cards that they had seen.

He’s obviously not AJ Level superstar but I think casuals outside of Liverpool are fully aware of him.

take liberties don't they mate, but there's always a group out there who'll pay, long as they exist, they'll keep pushing their ridiculous PPVs

I agree, the overall quality of ppvs are now dropping because as you say people are willing to pay. I am not anti ppv but has to be top notch world level quality or in my opinion it should not be ppv.
