A lot of people online saying AJ wants nothing to do with Whyte now and saying how much Whyte hes improved past AJ. Does anyone on here agree with this or is it just twitter idiots? From what I see AJ gets him out of there the same as the first time. I like Whyte, he’s improved a bit and I think he’s game, but he isn’t on the level of the top 3 and definitely wouldn’t beat any of them. I think some people are getting too carried away with him...
Whyte deserves to be taken seriously as an opponent by any hw including AJ. I think he loses to AJ or Fury, but he's shown himself to be one of the leading guys in the division. I don't think any of these guys are scared of each other, most of the difficulty in making fights comes down to money, risk / reward ratio. The most you can say is that fighter x doesn't fancy opponent y at price a but may change their mind for price b...
Whyte has shown he's a legit contender. I still have him below AJ, Wilder, Fury and Ortiz\Povetkin (assuming they aren't suddenly shot to ****) H2H. I think AJ starches him and don't see a logical reason for them t be avoiding him.
It's all bollocks and 100% about money. Idiot casuals are being herded from pillar to post so the money men can get richer. AJ knows its an easy fight and him and Hearn planned on taking it since before the Wilder talks even began. Whyte is AJ's only viable option for April 13th. He's **** scared to admit it though as Whyte can name his price to some extent. Whyte and his people are trying to spin that by saying AJ is ducking. If they can get a ground swell of support like Wilder and Fury have and the fans push for the fight, Whyte can stop begging and demand a better deal. Truth is, right now nobody cares about any AJ fight that doesn't involve Fury or Wilder.
Personal opinion is Whyte has improved a fair bit compared to the 1st fight but so as Joshua and Joshua can either play this safe behind a jab and taking big chances if Whyte offers them out on a plate or he can go in for another scrap like the 1st one and that will even it out a bit. But i feel it is fully in Joshua's hands. I can imagine that Joshua is a bit deflated cuz he wanted Wilders belt and fighting Whyte again is going over old ground as such but to say that Joshua is now scared of Whyte because Whyte has progressed so much sounds a bit stupid to me.
Whyte has improved a lot since the first fight but so has AJ. But that's a bit immaterial really. AJ only allowed the first fight to get out-of-hand because of a macho immaturity which made him engage and that has been ironed out of his game since. In the rematch he'll engage less on the way to a very one-sided KO win. The build up will be more competitive than the fight...
I’m with what Davo has said, Whyte is trying to push for the fight. No fight makes sense apart from Fury or Wilder and I think AJ needs to seriously push his team to make it. All that who’s ducking who stuff bores me to tears, but AJ’s team should try all they can and I think they can make it happen.
Whyte now has quite the resume actually. Chisora twice Parker Browne Helenius I get that he got lucky with the decision in the first Chizzo fight, and he fluked against Parker, but he still has those names on his resume. Joshua probably stops him again and easier this time around, but he earned the shot a lot more as many other contenders in the past.
Yeah but how you do it really does count. If Parker was less cautious and played things better, he would have won. I wasn’t even that impressed with the 2nd chisora fight. I’m not saying he’s useless or hasn’t improved, I’m just not looking at anything great.
