    Max Baer
    Ike Ibeabuchi
    Rocky Marciano
    George Foreman
    John L Sullivan

All have ridiculous natural, genetic power, chin, and instincts, which is what's required most in terms of boxing related birth. Explosiveness, endurance and ring generalship can be developed, though genetics play some part in those too.

This is the stuff that can't be explained. Usually they get away with plain dumb **** because of this (Marciano starting at 25, Baer barely training ((or should I say Baerly lol)), Foreman not having any sense of ring generalship or stamina, Sullivan's alcholic tendencies, and Ike has too many problems to list)

    Ike
    Baer

It's always hard to say how much of abilitty is talent. Even stuff like mentality can be more genetic than life experience. It's an interesting idea, but I can't get past just ranking them on ability.

True, also, mentality effects these traits, especially with power. Committing to a punch is difficult for some, especially when recovering from an arm/fist injury. Heart and chin are sometimes difficult to differentiate

Mentality goes into that whole nature vs nuture debate that I avoid

Marciano and Foreman were far better than the oter fighters on the list and their skills are really overrated, Foreman was a great body puncher etc.

Hard to rank them for obvious reasons:

    Max Baer, fairly well established.

Ike Ibeabuchi, who knows what he was or wasn't?

    Rocky Marciano, fairly well established

    George Foreman, fairly well established

John L Sullivan, who the f**k knows?
