Could any other lightweight fighter match Duran by moving all the way to 160 and win a world title?

Okay, but someone corrected me on what you stated, saying Ray actually started his career at 140 rater than 135.

Did you explain to them he fought several fights at lightweight early on?

Under this scenario have a look at where Duran started from too - Junior Featherweight.

Longhorn 71 is a cool guy who I message back and forth with. I probably wouldn’t share a private message publicly, that is kind of why it is sent privately to begin with. Probably not the wisest move if you want to develop friendships or relationships, but to each thier own bro

he beat him also. Hearns snapped Duran's head back with the jab. Duran is the king of excuses. You think he would give credit to someone who knocked him out.. I wouldn't believe Duran.

That is a big difference. Barkley even now his claim to fame is Thomas Hearns. Without that, he is a good fighter, but he only wins one title. He had a good stylistic situation with Hearns apparently.

Dingaan Thobela won the lightweight title and later in his career won the super middleweight title.

Iran Barkley would slaughter Floyd , if you could get him in the ring with the blade. Floyd would have to run like a purse snatcher to keep from getting killed.

Hearns was amazing v Duran and had a fantastic jab, but Roberto`s arms were far too short to deal with Tommy`s jab. Duran had a lightweights reach, life got harder and harder for him the further he moved up.

Which makes me wonder how he said Buchanan had the best jab. Those lists are always interesting. They have the best fighters always someone who they beat.

Like Tyson, Marciano and Frazier's arms were too short to ever deal with good heavyweight jabbers.

Fair enough, but was the gap really the same Hearns had the same reach as Ali! Duran`s arms were a lot shirter than Marciano`s, I don`t know what the gap between Marciano`s reach and Fury`s would be but it would be a problem, except Fury doesn`t like Wilder who also has a reach that Tyson or Frazier never came up against, Tyson did fight Lewis who had really long arms but was finished, Hearns was a master at exploiting his reach and using his jab to set up that right hand, nobody Duran`s heaight would have stood a chance against him at all.

I do actually agree that Duran couldn't deal with Hearns jab. It was too fast, too hard and too well disguised and varied as well as having a huge right hand bolt of lightning threatening to follow behind it. Duran's reach as you point out certainly came into play but i think it was a combination of factors as well.

Floyd has never once said he couldn't beat GGG!

Are you familiar with Floyd Mayweather, Mark? Haha
