The macho man was a bad boy back in his day especially at 130, and his character made him the $$

"We're gonna do our part, and we will win, because we are on God's side" is my favorite Joe Louis quote

"I wanted to go home early" after knocking out Max Baer in 4 rounds is another classic

Finally, whilst talking to Ali about Ali being in his era, he quotes "I went on a bum of the month tour" and looks at Ali, to which Ali states "I'm a bum?", Louis replies "You'd be on the tour"

I was always surprised by guys who were like so fluid, so calculating and smart in the ring. I'd watch them round after round and think, OMG, he's a freakin geniuos! Great combinations, great defence, a true master, then I'd listen to him talk after the fight and he could barely string a sentence together. Not because of brain damage from fighting, but because he just couldn't put a sentence together. But who cares, He's a great boxer!!!!

I disagree. I saw him on Arsenio Hall once and he did well.

But then we have a guy like Gennady Golovkin who can barely speak English... But he smiles all the time .And everyone thinks he so charismatic. He's and instant superstar .

Sugar Ray Leonard was an article well spoken gentleman. But all you read on boxing Forumns is that he was "so fake "

I dont understand people who say Deontay Wilder can't speak...he's okay to me. What exactly do you expect the guy to sound like....Bryant Gumble ??
