I get your point but there is a difference. Wilder had been a heavyweight for almost a decade and been a title holder for over 3 years before he finally stepped up and fought Ortiz. Usyk in comparison is talking about fighting Ortiz as his first fight at heavyweight. Wilder also was forced into the Ortiz fight to some degree. Remember they wanted Stiverne but Showtime wouldn't air that fight and demanded Wilder step up, but then Ortiz failed his doping test and Stiverne stepped in to save the card. Then there was a lot of pressure for the fight to happen after Stiverne. Uysk in comparison was expected to take an easier first fight but if he takes Ortiz or Povetkin on in his debut at heavyweight that's a far bigger statement than a guy like Wilder fighting him because of network and fan pressure to finally step up after nearly a decade.
Losses don’t count, and Parker’s best wins Takam, Ruiz, Fury were all close and controversial. I thought he lost to Ruiz Jr and Fury, and just edged Takam by a round. Jennings is on the level, if not better than all 3 of those guys, and Ortiz waxed him in 6. Hell, Parker would probably find a way to have a close and controversial one with Malik Scott. Ortiz also impressed much more against Wilder than Parker did against Joshua, when he stunk the joint out in survival mode for 12 rounds looking happy to go the distance. Judging them fairly on their respective performances, I don’t see how it’s possible to give Parker the edge. Ortiz is clearly the better fighter and would beat him handily.
I agree it is hard to see that outcome as a possibility. However as much as I do rate Spence , he hasn't really beat anyone elite before. I also think Brook was doing a job on him until his eyesocket went. Mikey will move him around and nick nick a lot of early rounds. Spence isn't a massive puncher either.
Brook was doing well but it was Spence’s fist which shatter the right eye socket, it’s not like he slipped and hit his eye on the deck. Spence isn’t a massive puncher but he hits harder than damn near everyone in the division, he is gunna break Mikey down, it will be a 4/5 round job. People will say Mikey was having success but that won’t mean anything when Mikey is rushed to hospital for a severe beating. It will probably be similar to Brook vs Spence but quicker and more conclusive.
You should review your post that I replied to and after that, you should see where you have expressed your subjective views. In regards to 'haters' - I said 'that's their opinion'. It's hard for me to know if they truly hate a boxer, hate is a very powerful word. So that's why I mentioned that they do sound like haters. I never said there wasn't any haters so no, that's not what I said at all. Like I said, re-read the posts.
If losses don't count then Ortiz's performance against Wilder is irrelevant to any discussion of him. That leaves him with one truly impressive win in the division against a man who (by judging their respective performances against Perez) was no better than Carlos Takam. Hardly an achievement to still be lauding praises on over three years later.
That is some strange definition of an arse kicking. Ortiz was winning rounds yes, but outside of hurting Wilder in one round, there was no arse kicking.
He was comfortably out boxing Wilder but that was also due to Wilder being low output, it’s an exaggeration to say Wilder was getting his ass kicked.
If Ortiz is indeed Usyik first foray into the heavyweight division, he should be commended. Ortiz to me is number 2 in the division. Joshua Wilder Fury share number 1 spot (1a 1b 1c)
ridiculous claims, usyk knows better, its just a warmup fight for a new division (although it qualifies for wilders best defence too!). Usyks warmups are wilders best efforts. Thats how good the Witcher is.
He should be commended no doubt. I don't get the hyping of Ortiz though. His claim to fame is hurting Wilder, and beating a bunch of bums. He's a legit top 10 heavy, but he's also fairly one dimensional, and like 50 years old.
The reason Ortiz is hyped is because his peers have ducked, Whyte just said no recently but said he is willing to fight Joyce lol, Miller said no, Breazeale isn’t interested, somehow had Ortiz was magically removed from all the sancationing body AJ has a belt of. Parker just said no, Fury said no, Chisora said no. Can Ortiz beat all of them who knows he may not be able to beat any of them but since we never get the chance to see the fights we have to assume the reason they are ducking him is he is too high risk for the reward.
