In 2 years. Whyte, Wilder, Fury and AJ is going to be smashed. And once again people will say “the heavyweight division doesn’t exist” because the people won’t give the credit to an Eastern European who acting like a gentleman outside the ring.
the top three are pretty weak, but Wlad is forty something. hasn't looked good in 3-4 years, at least.
Why will his bout v AJ be any different than their first match-up now that Wlad is older and long could remain champ or how long would it take him to clean out the division, it would take ages for him to become undisputed champ and he`s already 43 years old, time for the pipe and slippers, only thing Wlad should hit is a golf ball, if his old back can handle it.
The term weak is a bit off, if Wilder hits Wlad clean with his right hand he`ll fly back to the Ukraine free of charge and AJ already proved he can knock Wlad out with 'weak' punches.
Wlad would be insane if he made a comeback. I'd worry for his mental health. He's a guy with a networth of at least $75 million in the bank. Why on earth would he go back to training camp and put this type of pain upon himself?
ok, joshua almost got ko'd by a forty year old who hadn't looked good in about three or four years. wilder never had the balls to face him. wlad presented him with a cake for getting ko'd in sparring.
I don't see a problem with him coming back. He's appeared to have stayed fit and healthy for most of his life, although he's been dropped a lot he hasn't really been that beat up consistently in his career and has used an effective defence to avoid severe punishment. We've seen champions compete at high levels in boxing at older ages than 43, if he still has the itch then I think he's well positioned to scratch it.
Wlad could believe without the ex to distract him, he can still beat anyone. obviously i would suggest he just stay retired. hasn't looked himself since before Jennings. few boxers seem to be able to stay away though. maybe the Klits and Ward can set a new example?
Not going to happen. But I think Wlad like many greats is getting more respect for his achievements after retiring. Compare Wlad, Vitali and Povetkin vs Fury, Joshua and Wilder and I don't think there's a great difference and beyond the top 3 in both era's both era's are pretty weak, it's just Wlad utterly dominated his era and wasn't that exciting in doing so. Wlad's legacy is secure and as time passes he'll get more respect especially if Joshua does go onto unify and dominate. Being in his 40's and taking the next dominant champ to the brink of defeat in his final fight could be his single greatest achievement in the ring and could be the career defining fight that cements his legacy and proves he was a great in any era.
Indeed, it was a ballsy move really. I suppose in hindsight so was taking on someone with Fury's style at the time. I will never, ever forgive Wlad for not emptying the tank when he had AJ in trouble though.
