Pre-prime Johsua fought a seasoned Wlad in great physical shape with a lifetime of experience behind him. If we’re gonna be fair let’s pit a pre-prime Joshua against a pre-prime Wlad. Joshua decimates him.
That's a good one. I'll remember it the next time somebody says Kovalev beat a done-for Hopkins. "Seasoned" ... yeah In the old days people used seasoning to prevent food from outright rotting, so I guess it's a good adjective.
Destroyer Wlad bombs him the **** out , that was pre prime Wlad, not boxing cautiously under Steward Wlad ! Wlad
Agree. That Wlad was search-and-destroy Wlad and he wasn't shy to let the bombs go. Looks what a pre-prime Wlad did to a seasoned Ray Mercer: This content is protected
Vlad was a Mummy/Robot, IMO not a patch on Vitalli. only thging in defence for Vlad & its pretty weak....During the lead up to the Fury fight he was going through real personel problems , his wife had been admitted to a mental health Clinic, lets be real guys , how many here can honestly say that there work would not suffer if your wife/partner was locked up in a institution. 2nd point when he fought Joshua he had nothing to lose & was halfway outta boxing by then anyway, 3rd he is right now going through a Divorce so i guess he can see his hard earned evaporating, hence his heads bobbed up...not a good reason , he'll get starched.
Look at the power in every punch he throws...Imagine a combo of safety first Wlad v Destroyer Wlad…….
I think right hands were equal but Wlad's punches seem heavier in general than Lewis's to me watching that clip with Mercer, I forget how heavy handed he could be
Explain how you feel Wladimir had not looked good for 3/4 years prior to the Joshua fight? If I go back 4 years before the AJ fight. In that time he went 5 - 1 in world title fights. Beat 4 undefeated opponents. In that time beat Povetkin & Pulev who are top 10 rated to this day and beat Jennings who is arguably Ortiz best win He was a dominant champion that many (not me) favoured to beat Fury
I hope and pray Wlad comes back so I can relish the sight of him being TKO'ed again as karma for the punishment he and his brother inflicted on boxing fans during their 12 year reign of utter boredom. Spot on mate. Worst HW era ever, at one point David Haye was seen as the saviour, Adamek, Chagaev, Stiverne and Eddie Chambers were all in the top 5 for several years, that's how bad it was.
It’s funny they use the Sanders fight as an insult. THAT Sanders on that night could have KOed anybody. Dude came in motivated, calm, sharp and gave zero ****s when the bell rang. That Sanders would have brutalized Joshua worse that Nistor did.
Spot on about the Mercer fight. A couple of Wlad rights in that match actually drove Mercer back 7-8 feet. And that lightning fast lead left hook he dropped Mercer with in the first... NASTY
After the fight Joshua expressed hopes there would not be a rematch. Wlad can beat Joshua. He doesn't hit with patty cake punches. Even at 43. Wilder is a one trick pony. A lot of right hand power. Nothing else. Wlad can knock his ass completely out. Ortiz is ancient and had Wilder in the seventh. Washington was ahead on points...he was too old to learn the boxing craft. Fury won....and he threw about 7 or eight punches more than Haye did in his fight with Wladimir. Would prefer Wladimir stay retired. However, those that believe he can not come back are the same that spoke against him while he was here. Now that he is gone he is praised. Won't rule him out if he returns. If he is going to do it...now is the time. Fight for two years and if you don't do it ....retire.
If he is really coming back, he probably stayed in shape and kept on training. Maybe he watched his opponents closely to know their weak points, made analysis, created strategies etc. And, I think he should dump Jonathan Banks and get a proper trainer
