First fight Canelo was on his back foot, but G still had many chances to go closer and take the risk, second fight Canelo came forward and Golovkin decided to outbox him.

What he should do in May? Outbox him again and 95% of chance that he is getting robbed again, or take the risk, but his chin on Canelo’s chest and kill or get killed “Mexican style” (what he was talking about in the last 8 years). If he does that the chance is there that he will be the one who is getting knocked out and then his legacy is destroyed for all.

Easy to say, but Canelo’s bodyshots are strong especially from close distance.

Both fights went to the distance, this one will too probably. I hate Canelo and Oscar but Canelo became a very intelligent fighter

What’s the point of this fight, Canelo won the last one, I’m really not interested in it. Canelo beats GGG much easier this time.

    For the money, yes.

But he knows in advance that the fight is already lost to less than a knockout.

Tbh I don't see GGG winning a Third.

But if it makes him 20mil I hope he gets it.

He clearly won't throw body shots as he is too worried about the fire he gets in return

and Gennady became old, that's why he has to use his head more and be a bit less balls to the wall

    Either A or B:

A: Fight 100% defensively to get hit as little as possible. Pure money grab and a .... you to Golden Boy Promotions and boxing corruption. No chance of winning of course.
    B. Jump on Canelo instantly, keep attacking, and empty the gas tank. Boom or bust.

    This.

Pull a total Floyd, run all night, potshot with his superior jab and hold immediately. He'd stink the joint out and make Canelo look bad too. Doubt he'd win though.

    Or

Fight like he fought Ouma etc. Right up close, batter his ribs, use the uppercut, wrestle him, tire him out. I still think Canelo's leaky gas tank is what GGG can exploit for the KO. It's clear that GGG can take Canelo's best shot but Canelo can't take GGG's best shot. Go to war and close the deal.

The challenge for G is that he doesn't know how Canelo's gonna fight. What if G goes into the 3rd fight with the plan of coming forward and staying inside like you said? Canelo could start using his footwork again and G would be right there in punching range. I think G missed an opportunity to fight that kind of fight in the rematch, you know a toe-to-toe war. Canelo gave him that opportunity but I think G's gameplan for the rematch was to fight a more patient fight, essentially it looked like G was preparing for Canelo to fight off the back foot again and he seemed genuinely surprised that Canelo provided that relentless aggression, and G just wasn't prepared to match that.

In rematches, I think there's a tendency to over-prepare for the fighter you saw in the fight before. It's an unknown how Canelo will fight the 3rd fight, so if G plans to come forward and stay inside, it could look a lot like the first fight again with Canelo once again fighting off the backfoot, setting traps, with G coming forward all night trying to cut off the ring but not being able to.

It would be a real chess match if we saw the Canelo from the first fight vs the "more patient" G from the 2nd fight. Many fans might think that would be boring, but I don't think it would be. Obviously a more action packed fight would be the G from the first fight vs the Canelo from the 2nd fight. I just think that Canelo is the more versatile fighter in the sense that he doesn't have or need a concrete plan going into a fight, he picks up on what the opponent is doing and can make adjustments on the fly. Whereas with GGG and Sanchez I just get the sense that they go into fights with a concrete style and a concrete plan and they can't easily get out of. Don't get me wrong, Canelo went into the rematch with a concrete plan in the sense of coming forward and staying inside all fight, but in general Canelo approaches fights more more patiently and adjusts based on how the opponent is fighting. The 3rd fight interests me in that I really don't know how Canelo is going to fight G stylistically. He's fought G in two extremes thus far, maybe he mixes up fighting off the backfoot with staying inside, but that's what interests me. And i think the challenge for G is to go into the rematch without a concrete style. He should be prepared to go to war if Canelo isn't using footwork, and G needs to be able to turn on a dime to a more patient jabbing style if Canelo does use footwork. In the rematch as many have mentioned, G just didn't fight aggressively enough to win that kind of a fight with Canelo fighting that way. And in the first fight he was missing / chasing Canelo too much. G needs to be very dialed in to how Canelo is fighting on the night. He can't get frustrated if Canelo starts backing away, and when Canelo gets in the pocket G needs to look for counter opportunities. I just think that Canelo is unpredictable as far as how he will fight in a 3rd fight, and G needs to become more unpredictable himself and he has to show he can adjust to the pace that Canelo sets round after round.

In certain instances when GGG went physical , using his shoulders, forearms and a bit of pushing, Canelo was lost. The only problem was, he did that maybe 5 times in both fights combined. That is the only way that he will be able to hit the body of Canelo, because when canelo bends forward, he has his body covered and you can't hit him plus he is in the position to counter. By pushing him back he would make him go more upright thus creating the opportunity to attack the body and the head and canelo can't counter. Simplifying it, he needs to crush him. Easier said than done though ...

Upvoted because you are mostly right. Canelo has shown a versatility that I did not expect. If the 154lb Canelo had shown up he'd have been ktfo. Ginger has grown a lot as a fighter.
