Eddie needs to keep Barry away from interviews

I don't know what to believe these days... too many people talking the talk but not walking it

 

Holy **** OP. You realise that Barry calls the shots? Eddie Hearn will be looking after almost all the boxing activities but 100% Barry will be calling the shots for the mega fights with Wilder and Fury. If Eddie Hearn tried to tell his dad to stop giving interviews, Barry would toss his ass out onto the streets lmfao.

I love it when Barry gets interviewed because he lets the truth slip out. When it comes to negotiating Fury-Joshua, you better bet your ass it will be old man Barry and OG Frank Warren with their top buttons undone, and sleeves rolled up at the table sorting it out. The only questions Young Edward will be asking are “milk and two sugars, Frank?” and “would you like McVitie’s or Jaffa Cakes, Sir?”

 

They probably have. Most likely making idiotic flat fee offers like they’ve been doing to Wilder and Whyte.

 

What "idiotic" base fee didn't Fury accept for Wilder? And what did he earn after the PPV split?

I had a look and apparently the basic purse was $3 million with a slice of the PPV, which ended up at around around $10 million apparently, so about £7.5 million.

How much should he get for an AJ fight? Considering he drew his last fight and isn't the champion or the draw?

I'm sure Hearn would have offered far more than he got for Wilder, so what's the problem now?

If it's more than Fury earned in the first Wilder fight and more than he'd get in a second and Fury don't accept then it has to be considered a duck in my opinion.

 

I like this interviewer he brings a touch of Chris Akabusi mixed with Ainsley Harriet level enthusiasm. Works well with Gareth A. Davies. As for Barry he is a proper old deviant. Would not like to be stuck in a lift with him after he's had a few whiskeys

If BT and Frank offered AJ more money than he's ever fought for, would he accept?

Big fights don't get made with flat fee offers.

 

Fury-Joshua is a completely different affair because it’s a domestic world title PPV fight, probably the biggest ever in the UK and both would be responsible for bringing in the PPV buys. Can’t be arsed explaining that any further since it is axiomatic.

I keep hearing talk of AJ being the ‘A’ side, he fills the stadiums, he gets the ppv’s etc. I always think this is too much of a black and white way of looking at it.

The shills are right when they say that Fury or Wilder don’t sell the same amount of tickets or ppv’s...but it’s about the interest they bring. For example, a rematch with Dillian Whyte or a fight with Pulev, Miller etc will see AJ earning a decent wedge. However, a fight against Wilder or Fury is astronomical in earning capacity, absolutely mind blowing compared to any other heavyweight fight on the planet. AJ won’t earn anywhere near the wedge against another fighter than he would against Fury or Wilder....that’s the value right there. A 50/50 split against one of them is worth far far more than a fight against someone outside of them.

I know @Nicksp1976 stabber with go flaccid when reading this but that is a fact. Fury and Wilder can seriously sell a fight with Joshua tens times better than Joshua could with anyone else because with respect, he isn’t the best talker. He’s full of cliché’s and is a poor trash talker.

 

I think timing is the key. They know the longer they leave it the more the fight will be worth and i'm sure they will have studied the MayPac model very closely. Obviously there are risks involved but with great risk comes greater rewards. Wilder v AJ is worth probably $100mil more than it is now 18 months down the line and at the same time it is worth £ZERO if one of them gets chinned. High stakes indeed but they are probably right (financially) to let this one boil.

 

I dont think Barry does call the shots. I think he has a big say in things but I think Eddie has the final say. Just how i see it from the outside. The boxers always talk about Eddie doing the deal or sorting terms out. I think Eddie gets advice from his dad but that is all.

 

Lol Warren dont think much of his son Eddie Hearn. Frank said he would give him a good clip around the ear if he was his boy. Respect.
