Whether you think Golovkin won both fights (I personally do), lost, or they were draws, I think it's pretty clear Golovkin can't stop Canelo. He likely thinks he'd be robbed (again). There are still a number of interesting fights for him (honestly more than enough to take him to the end of his career). They don't really need each other for legacy.
GGG's not declining the trilogy... He's holding out for a bigger percentage (like the rematch). GGG has a lot of bargaining power — 99% of the world thought he beat Canelo 2X.
He probably won't get paid as handsomely as last time around, and the judges will probably beat him again if it takes place in Vegas. "What happens in Vegas, keeps happening in Vegas."
