Does anyone still think this match is possible this year? Would be an interesting fight to see, if Rigo still has his heart in boxing. Frampton just lost and Rigo is slowly trying to build his confidence back. Both have been softened up so I guess this fight could be even.

    Who you got?

If it happens I think Frampton will get through a few edge of your seat moments with Rigo counters and left hands. But Carl will eventually crack that not so sturdy chin and get rid of Rigoblin once and for all with an 8th or 9th round tko.

No. I'm not even sure Carl is going to fight again! Right now tho I'd favour Frampton who's far closer to his prime.. A few years ago I'd have had to edge towards Rigo in a hell of a fight. Carl is an excellent boxer puncher type, athletic too.. It would have been a hard fight but I'd edge towards Rigos skill winning a close one on points.

The only thing that may have softened Rigo up is age. He still hasn't taken punishment in his career.

His heart and confidence in himself was softened up. I agree that he hasn't taken a lot of punishment but his pride and ego were shattered within one fight and got lost in the Matrix.

Good fight. I can see Carl winning.
But really who wants to fight Rigo? There no up side to it at all.

I'd like to see Rigondeaux in a real tune up fight/test at 122 to see what he still has. If his handlers are smart they won't let him fight at featherweight until seeing what he really has left at 122.

Frampton has been ducking Rigo for years, he even admitted that he didn't want to fight him cause he'd most likely lose. That being said, Rigo needs to fight guys his own size and move down to Bantamweight if he has anything left.
