Kelly is an absolute tank of a 147lber.
I think he makes the likes of Spence and Kell Brook look small.

I wondered if he would out grow the division before he reached world level.

Rumours are circulating that he will be making the step up.

IMO the Welterweight division has great p4p talent, but it is full of very undersized guys. Majority of the top talent have spent the bulk of their careers in smaller weight classes.

154 is full of huge guys for the weight. The biggest Welterweights moving up look too small for the division tbh. Kell Brook looks puny amongst the monsters of the division..

I actually fancied Kelly to do very well @ 147 but don't see him successful in the current climate at 154 unless the big guys move up.

He beats Cheeseman and loses to Fowler imo. He could get Smith and Brook at the right time but really needs to slow down his progress if he wants to make waves @ 154.

Thoughts? Does this rumour seem legit?

He should do if 147 is a problem No point trying to kill himself to make 147.

From “no hesitation fighting Brook and Khan right now” to ducking David Avanesyan to moving up in weight.

    Nice going Booth.

Half his pro fights have been at 154 already...so I guess he just prefers that weight

I just don’t see how he could handle the likes of Hurd.

As said above though, if he can’t make weight don’t kill yourself trying!

I think he’s gona have to slow it right down now and wait a couple of years for a title shot at least.

Not surprised, he looked like crap at that last weigh in before they cancelled

I just hope it’s a good move for him and he’s big enough to crack at that weight, fingers crossed we don’t end up with another Frankie gavin

Being fit, strong and healthy at the weight is more important than been big but drained.
If he's struggling he should move up.

He might win a world title but i just think that a well trained resilient and disciplined fighter will beat him once he doent hold that weight advantage. I can see a tough mexican giving someone like Kelly nightmares, hopefully Im wrong but just get that feeling.

I also get the feeling that he will be the type that takes his eye of the ball once he is making proper wonga.

I know a lot of people will disagree with this and thats fine, I certainly cant produce any evidence to back up what im saying just what my gut tells me.

I might be wrong but isn't Kelly small for 154lbs?he's always looked a bit fleshy when I've watched him.
