Yeah he should, alot easier to get out of the Joshua fight if he isnt even a Heavyweight. Would save him lying on Youtube all the time he could spend more time punching prostitutes in preperation for his next Cruiserweight fight against jim smith who runs the auto parts store down the road.

Cruiserweight is arguably the best in boxing at the moment. Some quality boxers with good power

Wilder would get his head boxes off if he could make Cruiser. He has alot more chance beating the slow plodding mediocre heavies.

He has no reason to since he has 1 punch KO power at the HW division and he has been able to take flush shots from HW fighters and keep coming forward.

Him moving down to CW wouldn't change the fact he's a technically poor fighter with an unusual style. His athleticism, his unorthodox angles when punching and the overall dynamite he carries in both hands (especially the right,) make him the most dangerous fighter in the HW division now.

Doesn't make sense financialy but it would be interesting to see it, he would be very tall and have a huge reach for the weight and of course by far the hardest puncher. He could easily make cruiser weight if he was 214lbs for his last fight, HW's don't cut any water weight prior to weigh ins,. This is why fighters weigh so much more fight night than they do for weigh ins, most fighters are 10-20lbs heavier on fight night cutting 14lbs of water at his size is nothing, 115lb girls in UFC cut 10lbs of water 24hours before a fight.

I agree. He could probably almost even make light heavyweight to be honest.

Deontay needs to go down to cruiser weight and make a example of this Usyk. A vicious Spilka knockout should do the trick. Keep these puny cruiserweights like Briedis, and Gassiev in check, because some people are getting a little too big for their shoes, thinking these guys could ever compete with the devastating bronze bomber lol.

So is this the real reason he is dropping weight several years now? That really surprises me. Maybe his plan is to simply call Joshua until they fight and he earns money and then if he gets beaten he goes down to cruiser-weight? For Ortiz he was 214 lbs and said it was because of flu. For Fury he was 212 on weight-in and at the fight 209 :O I think he has a hidden agenda and the "flu" was just smoke in the eyes.

If he loses it would be a fun move, go down, rebuild, come back.

When he gets UDd ny Fury again and gets knocked out by Joshua, loses his confidence and gets knocked out by a few lower top ten fighters, he should definitely move down to CW and get knocked out by a few east europeans on small european cards.

Honestly, he'd get wrecked if he moved down to Cruiserweight. He clearly has no idea of what awaits him there, and seems to think it'd be easy to just waltz in and dominate. Chambers and Perez thought the same thing. Bottom line is he'd get folded into a pretzel by any of the killers that operate in that sharkpool, and be forced on the regular to fight top level fights. No messing around down there.

Don't worry. Usyk's coming up to him.

    Better start running, Deontay.
